I'd prefer trees where you can swap at will. Never been a fan of having to spend currency or visit a specific NPC like in other games.
How about no. Tell you what, I show you all those things when you feel like your ready to give up demonizing hardcore players in general. It's obvious from the poll casual and hardcore players both want these kind of changes in some form or fashion. Yet, here you are, trying to drive a wedge into the community. To all the bean counters and elitists wanting these stat changes:
Prove to me that you are less likely to exclude people from fights in XIV than you were in XI.
Prove to me that "lol[job]" is not in your vocabulary.
Prove to me the elitist forum you frequent will not resurrect the "Wall of Shame" you used to exclude people in XI.
and finally,
Prove to me you are mature enough to let people customize their character THEIR way and not just how the Excel jockeys determine.
If this poll resonates with the other communities, you are in the minority and SE should not cater to you.

Then taht kind of negates the point if you cant "play it the way you want to" if you are forced to change depending on the situation, then why bother with it. its just added complexity for the sake of complexity.
Is that inherently bad? I mean, the very point of this topic is..."do you want the XIV gameplay to change?", no?
I'd prefer more freedom as a healer, sure. Talents that affect my heals, or ones that affect my cards? How about ones that affect my DPS? I think they're less fussy to balance than whole gear sets, but let people feel unique. It's cool if you don't agree, but using a "for the sake of itself" argument in this thread is kind of self-defeating. A tank could spec more DPS talents if they were comfortable with their healer...I'm not suggesting that trees change job gameplay to something unrecognizable. A WAR would still be a tank, first and foremost.
Just two things here:To all the bean counters and elitists wanting these stat changes:
Prove to me that you are less likely to exclude people from fights in XIV than you were in XI.
Prove to me that "lol[job]" is not in your vocabulary.
Prove to me the elitist forum you frequent will not resurrect the "Wall of Shame" you used to exclude people in XI.
and finally,

1. The people asking for the stat changes are the people wanting customization, almost precisely opposite from the bean counters and elitists who already have their BiS gear and melds (or path thereto) set up. You're questioning the wrong group.
2. "Excel jockey"-ing can go in both ways. It can also be used to figure out the equilibriums between different choices and try to maximize the breadth of viable customization. The only issue is this takes place on the dev side, where these concerns are not only made on a fight-by-fight basis.
I suppose there's a third, actually, though I don't necessarily disagree with it at all, especially in regards to stats: should the burden of proof be placed on the side that wants to consider changes, rather than the side that wants to continue the present norm?
Since a lot of concerns have been expressed with the wording of this thread's poll, I've set up a more thorough survey to try and gather as much data as possible on this subject, to better understand where we all actually stand.
