"I'm OK. This rock broke my fall."
But if they relinquish it freely? How is that not an option =3= Some people actually have a heart to the homeless.
Oh, by "buying a relinquish", I meant paying someone to relinquish. Bad wording. o.o
But yeah, actual people relinquishing for free happen less and less now, so even if it's somewhat an option, it won't be soon. (It probably already isn't anymore on a few servers)
"I'm OK. This rock broke my fall."
But that is still possible for you to do only thing that is stopping you doing that is you. The house problem is no where near the same as you have no control if you can get a house or not.I'd play a different job, I like many jobs...
And thats fine and dandy, but I still can't have everything I want either. I want to get a i245 weapon from beating A8S, but I'm not there yet, and may not even win before it becomes irrelevant. Even in real life people have realise, they can't have everything, and this is no different. You all just seem to think that because you pay the sub, you have more right to get what you want, but I feel like that is not the case.
You're right, the only thing stoping you from buying a house, even if there isn't enough plots is you. You can't because you want it at the base value and buying a small plot for 7 or 10 mil is out of your price range, when in reality, thats not that bad at all. If you actually really tried to get that kind of money, you could afford it with relative ease, even if you only play a few days a week, or a few hours a day.
Gm isn't the one buying a house now are they.
If you watched the live letter, its a reportable offence to buy and sell land at a price that is astronomical, example being, 50mil for a small house. but if you think selling the house for its base value to someone is wrong, and doesn't help, please tell me. While were also on the topic of reportable offences, make sure to report all the people who sell Mogstation items in game for gil. That is against the ToS, but I don't see anyone stopping them either. Could the 2 maybe be linked and that they are officially against the ToS, but really aren't that bad when put into light. You get a house, I get some gil back.

No, but they're the one reviewing the complaint on a person selling a house and deciding if it is against the ToS. They decide what is overpriced.
Your words, not theirs. They did not give an example, and they did not say "astronomical."If you watched the live letter, its a reportable offence to buy and sell land at a price that is astronomical, example being, 50mil for a small house.
They did not give an example, you are right, I was using it to merely drive the point home. Although I WAS watching the live letter, and I wish I could find the video so that I could go back and cut the section out where it was talked about to prove my point. If you have that clip, please forward it, otherwise I say you're statement is partially false.
I never mentioned anything about life and death. I was suggesting a far-fetched albeit hypothetical case where one reservoir that's used to supply homes with water dries up and people are forced to commute to a city or wherever for bottled water. If one person owned a reservoir or lake that miraculously managed to escape the same consequences of the season then it'd cost the owner nothing to allow the locals to use it for whatever purposes. It was an implied abuse about profiting upon an inconvenience, not a potential disaster. Over-analysing it is just a silly excuse to avoid the point I was making. There are a thousand other better analogies you could come up with if it suited you but I figured people would manage to work the fundamental point out regardless.
In any case, I'm sorry I was unclear.
They set the 'maximum' price on it they expect people to save up and pay for one already. Anything over that is overpricing. Whether or not it is 'astronomical' might be more subjective but in terms of overpricing they have already said what the maximum price should be. House flipping aka buying just to resell at vastly inflated prices is against the ToS as evidenced earlier in this thread and there is already proof also that people have been punished for doing it.
