Possible level/story jumps....really?

This is good news to me, might actually have the chance to play on others servers and make more friends. I'm already caught up with content on one character, why should I have to do crap all over again on a fresh alt? Huge pain in the arse. Really hope they go through with this.

Well I could understand if this game has a Wow or blade and soul system where it's only 1 class/job per character. I see you wrote you want to make more friends on different servers which is fine. But remember it's a choice to make a new character and go through all that shit too . Not like people force you to make a new character each time you to make friends, if you are unhappy on your own server transfer and try make new friends. I'm sorry I sound harsh but this is an option not somethign forced upon you .

This game already has a lot of WoW elements, I never really played it but from what I heard SMN in this game is like a raw copy of the warlock from Wow.

It's more acceptable for WoW to do that because it's like 12 years old. FFXIV shouldn't already be jumping to something like that. Right now they should only be doing things like reducing the total exp required to level from 1-50, and possibly cutting out some bits of the story quests, like if they could turn some of the delivery nonsense or hide and seek into sidequests that aren't part of the story progression.

I mean, it doesn't affect me, just as it doesn't affect me if people skips all the Lore. What's the difference? They'll get boosted to lv60 probably,and they should still have to level all the rest.

If that encourages new players to actually play, then I'm ok with it.

I do main scenario story because I enjoy it. If somebody wants to pay to skip the RPG part of this MMORPG, then it's not my problem but his!

Many people said the exact same thing back in WoW. That it wouldn't affect them. Then as time passed more and more aspects of the game were gutted - including the story - to appease the growing number of players that cared only for instant gratification and content that was new and flashy.

I really, really don't want FFXIV to turn into WoW. I left that game for a reason - multiple reasons, in fact. I have little doubt that I'm not alone in that regard.

While generally I am against this type of potion, I was a little upset that I couldn't get to Ishgard without completing ARR first.

I really consider my "main jobs" to be crafting and gathering, and I spend a lot more doing that than dungeons or fighting. The only reason I do Roulettes now is to get Esoterics for crafting items.

When all my crafting and gathering jobs hit 50 (before my main WHM even did), I wanted to continue to raise the level. I think I got them all 52 before it was getting tough. I wanted to go to make new items, which required gathering new ingredients, which meant...going to Ishgard.

I was so behind in story quests it took me 2 weeks to finally get there.

I actually really enjoy the story a lot, but I was a little bummed that I couldn't raise my crafting / gathering levels until I raised my WHM level to 50 and finished the main quest.

Welcome to the XXIth century videogames, where everyone wants all without actually play for it. THis remember that thread complaining cause they ned to do all story to go End Game. Yeah, it is called End Game for SOMETHIN. I really whis do not do it.

It is just a stupid idea. I was playing for almost 3 years, why should a player who start play 1 day ago have the exact same progress as me wihout work at all?

Then I might need to look for a wowless game in the near future. We already have plenty of players that are clueless about their job class. By not experiencing the low level dungeons and the story mode , less and less capable players will be found in the duty finder. But if that makes more money for SE, it's a choice. We don't need to bash their choice, just unsub and find either a new game or maybe focus on real life more.
In the last 2 weeks , every freaking day /facepalm about the quality of returning players. They just want to be carried and not even ask or listen to advices , so why on earth do I have to help others , when they don't want to be really helped? Just throw some option to have them the quest done and carry on making cash.
Certain mechanics are learned early in the game that allow a more quick reaction later in the game , as visually it enhances your decision making and also perfecting rotation for maximum output (either damage/heal/enmity). This way we will have more players that don't even grasp the basic , which will result most likely in making the older (elitist as they are called) to avoid even more the duty finder or random groups.
Good job boys! Really....
Oh and for a side note : if they only care for 1-2 months subscribers, that's the road to do it , as those players don't really care about a product or a game.
