Thank you, developers, from a "midcore" player!

I've been unhappy for some time about the lack of mid-level content. Things were either too easy (Void Ark, expert roulette) or too hard (Gordias savage) with very little in between.

Patches 3.2 and 3.3 have done a lot to fill in that void. Sephirot Ex was the perfect difficulty level for me; Midas normal was a nice challenge on the first week, and now I've cleared A5S--not nearly as punishing as Gordias Savage. Weeping City of Mhach is a total blast with interesting mechanics that require coordination and movement, a huge improvement over Void Ark. And I appreciate that Final Steps of Faith isn't impossible to wipe on a la Thordan normal, and I'm already enjoying learning the extreme version.

So thank you for taking player feedback and providing content that appeals to the many of us who have been stuck in the middle between the easy dungeons and the hardest savage raids. These past few months (and particularly the past two days) have been so much fun!

This. Final Steps is such a great fight. I'm looking forward to learning extreme. Also Weeping is fantastic, a welcome relief to the other towers which have become a snoozefest. They really came through this patch imo.

Yeah Weeping city is great. And it straight up punishes bad healers. \o/
And the two new dungeons where it punishes bad team work.
And the final steps, where it just punishes bad play, placement, and SCATTERING

Oh you're gonna love Steps Ex! I first tried it before the Thursday maintenance, and while I won't spoil anything, I will say I LOVE the approach they took this time around.

I'm not too happy with steps of faith, myself, but it could just be the quality of groups I'm seeing. Made it as far as 5% once, but so often I see people wiping to the adds phase.

And then people start arguing about whose fault it is, and whether Limit Break should be used... I'm glad you're enjoying it, but I'm finding the trial to be fairly draining, and bringing out the worst in people.

Sounds like you've had bad luck with groups. I like that Final Steps of Faith kind of forces players to know their classes to some degree and to pay attention to mechanics. It reminds me a bit of Ravana story mode when it was brand new without an echo--took a couple of wipes for people to figure out, which is more rewarding than just steam rolling a big boss on the first try, like Thordan (extreme is a different story of course). I've only made it to the blue/red fang part of phase 2 in extreme so far but it seems like a really well balanced trial similar to Sephirot Ex, so I'm happy.

If the group you have is tight on the adds DPS check, the use it. When it is used which is better, melee one of the adds or caster/range on all 3?
I would fundamentally thing, caster/range but have so far only been in groups which used the melee.

I had a person saying "Every group that I've cleared with didn't use the limit break on the adds phase." I honestly don't know how to reply to that.

I would respond by saying "We'll only use the LB if we fail the DPS check twice."

That person has been fortunate, he has always been in groups with sufficient DPS to not need it. I have done it 4 times now. Two groups did not need it, two groups did. The DPS check on the adds is generally mediocre difficulty. So, any slightly above average group should be able to pass it without the LB.
