if all the crafted gear will be released at once, it's bound to be specialist since each craft will get certain parts of it to make.

Also, the red scrips version being tied to one craft class makes sense, otherwise the red scrip token cost for each piece would have to be stupidly high to compensate for it being omni-gear. It's currently 18 red scrip tokens for a chest piece for example, that alone is a cost of 148 tokens for all 8 chest pieces. Since the new gear is a higher item level, the cost would have to be increased from the i180 chest piece so that could easily cost 160 tokens for a red scrip omni-chest piece. That's almost 18 weeks just for one item.

Yeah, it was very nice to read that you'll be able to buy tier IV crafting material with Ixali tokens.

Only the last 2 tier of ixali quest will give materia IV upon completion and after the patch

You're right. I was still half asleep when I read the notes.

End result is the same though, getting grade IV from Ixali.

Confirmed is i180 giving T5 materia
Not sure about 170 are mid low chance
(I did it one of my off hand and got à Tier IV)

It's actually just the last tier of Ixali dailies, since the 7 listed dailies are all tied to the area around Camp Dragonhead.

They said, back when 3.2 came out, that they were not planning on a new color for scrip/token. The addition of a new token thus indicates that it will be Red or Blue (or, and I shudder to think it, both). I'm just glad I'm taking a full 500 red scrips of both crafting and gathering into next Thursday's patch.
