Great Patch!

Lol I guess you are just retarded, but some people don't like to party, or they only play with friends who aren't on all the time. And the whole retarded "if there's no time sink you get bored" crap, if there's a 2 hours a level because I'm waiting for 30 seconds between each fight time sink i'm gonna get bored pretty damn fast, don't know about you I guess you like sitting there doing nothing half the time.

I understand that but doing dungeon over and over is dumb when you have everything what else are you going to do if you have everything 50?

@Blarp once everyone found out the best camp it going to be 100x faster then before there 10x more mobs per spot then before you get more exp if you kill them faster so i don't see this slow. make a party only take a short time i make one every day and only take me 10-15min of my life maybe if your on a low server i understand you but over here in selbina i don't see any issue.

I didn't say anything about time. I said it feels like a big giant grind, and it does. In XI, I was fine with killing crabs for hours because I was in awe of the fact that I was playing an MMORPG. Things have changed. I no longer have the patience to sit there and kill the same mobs for hours on end. When I log on, I want to do something exciting and well designed. I want to be a part of something ongoing. Grinding mobs does not fit that criteria for me. Even when leveling up, I want things to be exciting. I want to embark on epic quests to help save the land and the inhabitants. I want the story of the world to unfold as I become more powerful. None of this happens in this game. You sit in a spot and kill the mob that gives the best experience for the effort.

It's not exciting. It's not ongoing. It's not epic. It's boring and it feels like a grind. Doing a bunch of quests may be a grind, but at least some of those quests will unfold a story.

I had started a new character for the sake of this patch, and because I wanted a reason to play.

The blow to my exp struck me in the gut at first.

But after I got used to it, and realized the basics of chains/level difference, it started to make sense, and it started being fun.

And then I went crafting, and WOAH. I could make all the gear I needed for my GLA rank 13, even though most of my crafts were under level 10!

And then I road the airship and WOAH LOOK AT THE VIEW FROM ULDAH.

And then I road a chocobo and WOAH, THIS IS FUN!


I like this patch. Suddenly the game is more challenging in an endearing way.

If you're experiencing downtime then you're not balancing your resources correctly. For f's sake, the patch just released. Chill out and give it a couple of weeks to feel out. SE busted their damn asses away from their families in times of crisis to push this out nice and timely. Have some more appreciation or go back to some other MMO.

I can confidently say that everything about this patch is making me shit my pants. Cheers, SE. And a hearty thanks to all the hard-working devs, your dedication is appreciated to a degree that I cannot even express.

Yeah found out why they are ghost towns, just ppl 10 lvls over the mob running through linking tons of guys at once and killing them all. pretty dumb, but found a fast way to lvl, fight guys 10-15 levels below you while linking 4 of them! so much fun!

or get a friend who 50 and kill them for you and you get yourself 50 within few week less then before and you still be soloing. I mean don't ppl want to get 50 fast and do all the stuff there you go.

No guy who can't read, I said I want to be able to solo stuff without waiting for 30 seconds after every fight, and not see guys 10 levels above me in whatever area I'm in linking the crap out of everything and leaving me nothing to fight. Glad you like it
