I still think it's very likely we will save Estinien in one form or another. I still kind of expect some twist at the end but at this point its possible it might not actually be in the MSQ but perhaps in the Side quest Warring Triad stuff.
That's what makes us a bona fide hero though. It's not the divine blessing, martial might, or ability to topple impossibly powerful foes. We advance toward what lesser souls retreat from... even if we're probably just as terrified, especially since Estinien is our in-universe dear friend.

I gotta do it in my now-iconic crimson (Dalamud) red Chaos set. (Not like I can do it as anything else, given I've taken a break from the game in general and just started playing again to level [MRD/WAR]/[PGL/MNK]...)

The skirmish with the Garleans and van Hydrus probably isn't in the trailer because it doesn't add anything (it's just an instanced fight in the ARF a la the Vault fight from 3.1) and doesn't relate to the story (the final battle against Nidhogg and the Horde). It might be important to the overarching Triad plot (and thus the overall plot of the game), but it's not a big deal right now.

Palace of the Dead is going to be in 3.3.

Also adding, not sure if anyone notice it. But it seems that the fight against Nidhogg will take on different parts ot the Steps of Faith and not just on once place.

I can already imagine Fray's opinion on that. :P

(Then there's the whole Nael Deus Darnus thing, but others have mentioned it; I'm leaning towards that transformation being related to the Celestial Dragons as well. Primals do retain some bit of the one they're made from...)
I actually did notice that Estinien-Nidhogg charging his new super looked an awful lot like the Blood of the Dragon buff, I just didn't know how to describe it since I don't even have the basic DRG Jump, hehe. I noted that it looked like a supercharged, ultra-destructive variant of the Dragonsong Dive, which also includes the energy tendrils associated with the Blood of the Dragon. Estinien-Nidhogg's are just Nidhogg's signature purple/pink instead of the blue/white that comes from Midgardsormr's power.

I'm not quite ready to say that all of the First Brood are capable of the sort of things Nidhogg is doing / has done. It seems unprecedented, really, which is why Alphinaud is so desperate to find a way to save Estinien. deus Darnus is pretty unprecedented as well, though (a[n opposite sex] clone tempered by a Primal vs. a normal mortal possessed by a dragon), so who knows. Still, I'm going to chalk deus Darnus up to Bahamut's Primal status when we encounter him as opposed to outright possession in the case of Estinien-Nidhogg.

I find it curious that Nidhogg starts the fight in his pure draconic form, then shifts into a hybrid form for his super. I wonder if he'll remain in that state...
