But..but the tight pants! The chest window in the lore tank gear! The high heels!D'ont forget that's the game is design by japanese people... And everytime they try to do some masculine badass thing, it's always, sadly, in a stereotypical/humoristic way...
I really accept the fact that many people like to play androgynous characters. But some people like us Highlanders or Roe have chosen our race because we want something MASCULINE. I'm getting so tired of robes, long coats and even ribbons as chest armor. Just as female characters with their itsy bitsy bikinis, let us men show the world our muscles dripping with testosterone ^^'
Being androgynous is not sexy for everyone...
Because most Healer/Caster gear is either terrible, effeminate or "okay." I main BLM (and am also a Roegadyn), so my glamour options are pretty limited, thus why I stick with what I currently have as glamour.
Keep the flawed politics out of this thread, please. You may disagree with established gender norms but that doesn't mean many people don't conform to them or admire them. I'm sure if you try very hard you'll be able to figure out what, exactly, many people class as 'feminine', 'androgynous' or 'masculine'.
It's not as if Final Fantasy games have avoided portraying masculine characters either. Sabin, Basch and Gladiolous are but three of the countless examples that spring to mind. Yet contrary to what some people are making out 'masculinity' doesn't have to refer to that style alone. It can be as simple as a guy actually looking classically handsome and dressing in a dashing tuxedo.
No politics or any such things in my comment, I was just honestly curious what exactly he would define as such, considering that for something like this, you need some idea or image of what you have in mind. Not sure why you'd think I was taking a political stance, but...
You have several glamours that let you go full on shirtless or with just a necklace. Not sure how much more masculine they can make it.
For you masculine glamour is being shirtless...???
I am a girl in this game and in RL but I still approve of this idea.More different glamour options for guys and for girls please. (But since a lot of glamour is already girls only or unisex I would not have a problem if men get their "men only" glamour too)
I am really sorry but I don't find men in only underwear masculine or sexy. (The same for girls toomore is sometimes better than less atleast for me). I also sometimes wear the more crazy outfits but I also like more simpler ones or the ones that look like I am a adventurer and not someone that goes to a party.
A simple trouser and a shirt with a trench coat would be a really nice glamour for me. (And it can be unisex too; not all girls want to be girlie all the time)
In the end, everyone should be allowed to wear what they like, be it a dress for men/women, only underwear or a much simpler style. It would be nice if we get a much more diverse glamour so that everyone can wear what they want.
(And I do find it strange that some people are kinda attacking the OP for his request..he does not want less of the others, just more of those that is barely in the game right now and there were some nice examples of older FF games. I see nothing wrong with hoping for more diversity and its kinda shocking to see so many arguing against him..)

Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
I can count on one hand the number of male chest pieces that show a decent amount of skin... and at least one them is class locked. The ones that look the best to me are the Hyur and Miqote chest bits. Very adventurer-esque with the Miquote one really standing out as roguish. Then we jump to barely there chest bits like the Coeurl and South Seas Talismans and the Light Steel Galerus. One of my favorites is the Uraeus Coat which shows some chest without being too overt. But outside of that? Nearly everything else is a potato sack robe or full body armor.
There's a smattering of exceptions but they are so forgettable that they might as well not exist if you're looking for a lil bit of sexy (sexy =/= feminine) but most stuff is pretty masculine, especially if you're a DoW. I will admit some of the DoM stuff can look kind of silly (I'm sure some people like this sort of thing but high level armor looking like jester costumes or 1950's aristocrats doesn't appeal to me), and there's a few that are very feminine (I'm looking at you esoteric Antiquated Caller set), but for the most part there's no shortage of "masculine" options for glamour.
What I'd like to see is stuff for guys that shows a bit more skin like the low level crafting vest that shows the biceps (higher level version adds sleeves and looks awful IMO). Gimme a tight (read: not chunky or thick or overly embellished) leather vest with no shirt, gimme some shirts with rolled up sleeves, just gimme some sexy guy stuff that shows off a bit without being too tryhard. Masculine options we have, but sexy guy stuff (that doesn't end up looking feminine or makes you nearly naked) does seem to be in short supply IMO.

How many men am I involved with? Well that depends... do you mean men as in males? Or just midlanders?
