Well the only difference between a tank and dps is the fact that they have a tank stance. A WAR's goal is just to pump out damage. I don't feel like a tank. I just feel like a tanky dps with less dps.
And much much more defense and HP. And take far less damage. And also generally deal far less damage.
No the difference between a Tank and a DPS is their responsibility in the group and the kind of mechanics they have to deal with.
But that doesn't answer what you are looking for, just that you don't like WAR. What kind of Tank do you want?

I did answer what I'm looking for. I'm looking for a tank that isn't just a tanky dps. Which this game can't do.
Coming from FFXI, this is not really relevant when it comes to what a job is.
Between Abyssea and Adoulin, healers were so powerful and damage enmity was so high that basically any DPS could tank with a WHM behind its back.

Ok fair enough. But please answer my original question. And like I said you can take other games as example.
Edit:
Yeah that is true. Also we had some occurrences in this game where Dps jobs took the role of a tank.

I'll use league of legends as an example. A tank in LoL brings crowd control. No tank in this game can lock down enemies. They're not made to. So they just absorb dmg and hold hate. Which is easy. So their real goal is to maximize damage.
I'll say your example cannot be applied here.
LOL is a PvP game, there is no enmity. You can't force your enemy's target, so the only way to prevent others from being hit is through crowd control. Here, if you have the enmity, the mob is locked on you for the the vast majority of attacks.
The fact that surviving is easy is not a problem of the jobs but how content is designed. If it was less scripted, you would need much more skill to survive.
Right, but I still wouldn't actually feel like a tank. I know it can't work like that. Just how the genre is. I'll only ever feel like a dps that has tiny bit more responsibility. Which one of the reasons I suspect it's such an unpopular role.I'll say your example cannot be applied here.

Which is very weird since the tank's responsibility is anything but tiny. You're the first line of defense. Die, and it's frequently over for the entire party. Despite what some people say, you're also frequently the one who give the pace of the duty.
Never have I felt like a weak DPS, and more of a shield for the party. This feeling is even stronger on PLD than any other tank, and it's precisely why I loved playing it in 2.x even if the 1-2-3 gameplay could be a little boring sometimes. That's also why, when I switched from PLD to DRK...I leveled PLD on my alt to still play it![]()
