Wow, no mention of Auction house / MW improvements

This past summer which would have been better use of the dev teams time -

1) Making an event revolving around swim suits.
2) Perfecting the markets wards or converting to an auction house.

I don't know man, it seems to me that those events are pretty simple. All they had to do is get the team that works on gear to make some swimsuit models and someone else to write (or even copy) a few lines of code for the quest. I'm sure the team that works on gear couldn't help much with creating an AH anyway. Id be willing to bet that most of the seasonal events were complete or close to it before the game even launched. Also, I'd bet that the UI team is working on overhauling the UI. That's more important to me than making the wards easier to use.

To be honest with you, i would like to get a feel of what this vision is and i think not many people do get it and you have to realise one year down the line, not many people will be patient. It is actually a big hassle having to deal with MW overall.

I know people are impatient. I also know that the greatest of accomplishments usually don't happen overnight, or in a flash of insight. They take a lot of hard work and thought, usually.

I see a possible side-game using the market wards and retainers, made especially for people who like to play the market game. I don't know what Tanaka-san had in mind, but the retainer levels suggest they were for more than standing around the market.

In any case, while I personally enjoy shopping in the wards, I more than understand a lot of people don't. I'm not against people wanting to get in and out of the MW faster, I just want them to stay for those of us who like them. How to do both... personally I thought the best suggestion was having both MW and AH in a dual combination, but I'm also patient to see what Yoshi-P does.

That's in 1.19 duh! And there are tutorials all over the place...talk to any of the NPCs and or the lodestone...they tell you a lot there's whole books of tutorials. There's the lodestone here as well...ever click to your left? There's step by steps everywhere...or how about YouTube ever heard of that? There's whole tutorials there too...

Your right, it does take time, and patience is key. I don't think it's a breaker at the moment but when we start getting more gil sinks and more gear and items and the economy starts booming, convenience will become a key factor in the MW. So until then, MW is not a biggie, but it really should be given attention from now so we don't get this discrepancy in the game as we are now; with new content/fights being introduced but still lacking a party search feature to compliment it.

So you want a system where you have to bid on an item then wait atleast an RL day for the bidding to end to get the item because that is an AH, nothing else, yes FFXI had a blind bidding system but it still wasnt an AH.

If you implement buy it now sort of things its still NOT an AH, if people keep asking for an AH this is what we will get.

And dont give me the inevitable but WoW has an auction and an instant buy, because from what I understand is that most people use instant buy, if they implement it like WoW you will make the devs work on somthing that will not be used you know the auction, where you have to wait forever just to find out you got outbid overnight, so what you are left with is, guess what somthing that ISNT an auction.

By all means ask for a "buy from a counter" system but if people keep not understanding the word auction we will get a worse system.

People say the wards are slow, a proper AH will make it even slower, so for god sake stop asking for an AH when you mean somthing completly differant.

you don't need a AH the market ward works fine. i have no problem finding the right gear for my class, or selling unwanted gear, i hear the MW used to be broke when there was no search options, but there is now. fixed job done move on

-Nod- I rather like how the Market Ward works myself, rather than wading through menus upon menus and dropping framerates trying to find the things I need I'd much prefer to go to a specific section. We want a system where we can flippin' buy things from the damn search menu.

Here's an example of me purchasing two items in the wards (assuming that I can even find them with the godaweful search function):

Searching, zoning, running, browsing NPC, buying, running, searching, zoning, running, browsing NPC, buying.

This ridiculous method could be simplified to:

Searching, buying, searching, buying.

It's as easy as letting me buy from the search menu. Running to the retainer, and buying from it serves NO PURPOSE what-so-ever.

This would also make it so that I could sell my wares in the more popular wards, which are ALWAYS full.

You can keep your silly market wards for all I care, just give us the option to use an AH separately (I guarantee that it would instantly negate the necessity for a market ward, anyway, considering it's a far more streamlined, logical, and modern system).

Edit:

When most people say "AH", we're referring to an XI style AH, which was the same thing as the current search function for the MW. The only difference was that it relied on price history, vs. current prices of items, and it let you buy the items from the menu, instead of forcing you to hassle with slow-to-pop retainers, and useless running and zoning load times.
