There is plans for a AH but will likely come AFTER area revamps.

Ppl who dont want AH they just dnt play FFXI i think...it like saying oh ty dear god i have 1 arm why do i need second if i can do what i want with only one!
Only when you got AH you will see the difference
Remember the time when you dint know about s*x and after![]()

I played the crap out of XI, so you're wrong. I see merit in the wards, they just need some improvements.

Wowowow, I can't believe this thread is still going. The last time I looked at it, there were something like 30 responses. I guess I shouldn't be surprised though. Any thread that has the word 'Auction house' in it's title always seems to become a huge topic.

Well the MW in Ul'dah have crashed on my server. Didn't see that coming *rolleyes*.
There is supposed to be a signature here.

To separate an AH from the wards and have two simultaneous systems that do the same thing would make selling things even more confusing. That is no solution I'd settle for.

Just like the Rolanberry Markets were separate entity from the AH in XI, the wards would be separate from an AH in XIV.
The MW would just be there for whoever still uses it. It would not be the featured means of buying and selling goods. All of the tutorials in the game would lead people to the AH, because it would be the focal point of trade in the economy.
The auction house that I proposed is the most logical, user-friendly method to buy and sell goods, and it is close enough to the current system that people would not have to learn something completely new in regards to the mechanics. It would just cut out the completely unnecessary middle man of zoning into the wards, and hunting down an NPC for every item you want to buy. It would save time, solve confusion, and frustration on both ends of the market.

Oh I get it, but there is no reason to have two distinct systems, just improve the one we have in a way that leaves the wards in tact but improves searching for and buying items. To start from scratch is a waste of dev time.Just like the Rolanberry Markets were separate entity from the AH in XI, the wards would be separate from an AH in XIV.

you seem to be over looking the fact SE went with market wards to stand this game apart from other MMO's. if they wanted a AH in the first place you would have one. its most likely a re-vamp of the market wards you can expect in the future
What I have shown you is reality. What you remember, that is the illusion.

Exactly. With that plan (Molly's plan I mean) you're only getting a half-hashed version of both systems. You aren't getting a streamlined AH, and you aren't getting an open bazaar that the wards are supposed to be.
Functional, easy to understand, user-friendly mechanics need to come before "immersion", and "differentiation" in EVERY facet of EVERY game. It isn't an excuse for a sloppy, half-assed system. They could have differentiated this game from every other MMO by making me control it with my via spiked dildo, that wouldn't have made it any better.
