it's not the tank's fault if you OoM from trash pulls. if they're undergeared and they overpull from inexperience, guess what? they DIE. OoM comes from poor DPS, not tanks. the only time it's solely the tank's fault is if they decide tickling the boss is ok when you're at double digit MP. and even then, tunnel vision is a pretty common flaw.

DF isn't "everyone better be perfect" time. DF is a test of patience, and if you fail that test, your anguished soul will be ground up and thrown into the pot of bitterness and anguish that they use to create the next raid tier. your tears will be used to sustain our SE overlords as they laugh at your despair.

if your tank is REALLY that bad, you last...what? 5 minutes? 15 minutes? or you adapt. its that simple. no. it REALLY is that simple. if EVERY single run is an OoM horror story, there's only 1 common denominator

...either that or ease off on the freaking holy spam if your tank needs that much attention. like... could you use 1 or 2 less? and actually save the MP to heal them? because if not, its your own dang fault you went OoM

I like it when I heal tanks who do the same thing; because regardless of finishing the trash pull at 50% MP or 5% MP, it's faster and it's more exciting/fun. Healing while the tank plays it safe with every pull is the most boring way to play this game. The second most boring way to play this game is tanking mobs 3 at a time. Setting cruise control to "cool" and playing without any sense of risk is boring.

Well that's the lovely thing about opinions. Some rather be safe than sorry. Personally for me, I don't care if we're dragging half the dungeon or taking baby steps.

Personally as a DPS, I don't mind if a healer wants to spam AoE spells all run long. No need for me to run out of TP with quick nock that way after all, just keep multi dots up and RoD spam. But no, you're still not getting For Requiem, I don't care about your parser hard-on that much. As a healer, I spam DPS anyway! It's a free excuse to diss the DPS in the run for not being able to keep up with my invincible AoE!

Unless there's a BLM or a SMN. Then they get my Foe love.

I'm not lazy! I just don't enjoy enabling what I consider to be a risky play style.

I wish I had a gil every time I saw these "Dear tank, why does this dungeon run not play out exactly the way I envisioned it my head" threads. You can't tank without generating aggro. Let experience, not opinion, be your guide. #backseattanking

I only get annoyed if a BRD doesn't foe with a healer dps'ing if they're also not aoe'ing. Otherwise yeah, save it for paeon.

This BRD argument...use foes. I am a MNK main and I feel embarrassed when a BRD doesn't use their toolkit, you don't get a dps loss from foe and in the dungeons being talked about right now...if your DPS need any song from you because of resource depletion...than I hope to god those guys aren't in progression...you learn resource management in the level 30 range...Just stop being bad! Stop buying weapon runs! Git gud!

She only said that to protest healer dps. She knows her job. I was just poking fun. Lol

I'm constantly burning mana as a WHM in dungeons, but that's most likely not because of a tank doing massive pulls. It's either because I get to nuke my heart's content...

...or I try to nuke my heart's content but not being able to as the other two dps aren't killing mobs fast enough and holy stuns are full resist already and I have to heal more. Or the tank just doesn't do their job with cooldowns and then I'm sad.

Why do I dps? To get out of the dungeon faster. If a bard doesn't give me Foe, (10% faster out of the dungeon?!) even after I ask, they aren't playing their job properly. (Yes, I like those 3k+ stone3 crits) I even have hi-elixirs that I get from the very same dungeons to pop during the run when I see it necessary to have a bit more mp in my pool. A tank can survive bosses quite well with just regen and/or Medica 2. Benediction and holy stuns are better for trash pulls to give dps more time to destroy everything. (Imagine that +10% extra magic damage, HMM HMM?)

The whole "healer shouldn't dps" is not about DPS lacking and shaming them for it, it's only to do the dungeon even faster!
