just because you see a well geared, experienced tank grabbing ALL the trash in a dungeon and dragging it to one spot so the dps can aoe, that doesn't mean your tissue paper wearing self can do the same thing. Benediction is NOT meant to be used on trash pulls. if your healer has 10%mp after a trash pull, you're pulling too big. period. and don't take off and do it again when the healer is under 50% mp. you may feel like a god, but you're just a goof with inferior gear. stop it.

A good tank adapts their pace to the ability of the group.

If your healer is struggling to keep you up, slow down.

If you don't have good AoE DPS in your group, slow down (and don't assume that, just because you have a SMN or a MNK, you can pull everything).

If you don't have any cooldowns available to help you mitigate all that damage, slow down.

In many cases, daisy chaining smaller pulls will actually get you through a dungeon faster than if you mass-pull everything to the next gate.

Also, if you're doing huge pulls? Use your goddamn cooldowns. Don't drop Grit/Shield Oath/Defiance when you have 20 enemies pounding on you.

Ultimately, the key is communication, and catering to whatever the rest of the group can handle. Taking an extra five-to-ten minutes to clear a dungeon because you did small pulls is not going to kill anyone.

if a healer has to pop Bene and get to 10% mp every pull because they're dpsing, you have crappy bad dps. a healer shouldn't have time to do more than pop aero 3. if they do, the dps aren't pulling their weight

To add on top of it use the first pull to judge the party performance before big pulls, and check with the healer if he/she is ok with big pulls.

As far as dungeons go, trash pulls are really the only place you should need/use bene.
