First of all, a samurai tank doesn't have to use a 2handed sword, it could also use dual katanas wielded upright. Even if it is a 2h katana wielder, saying that tanks that use parry is redundant is just about the silliest argument you can come up with. You're basically saying that because three jobs try to deflect an incoming attack that all of a sudden this means no jobs in the future can utilize this... What? It's a stat on tank gear for a reason, and surprise surprise, it's not just tanks that can parry. Any tank that is implemented is going to be able to parry. It's what you do want to do when an attack comes at you, which is kind of the point of tanking.

Plot twist; The release Samurai as a Tank, but it doesn't Tank... Instead they mash Beast Master in there, and all those runs of dungeons I've tanked with Titan-Egi finally add up to something!

Seriously though, we could be Yojimbo... A Samurai with a faithful companion... Have that Tank, give Samurai a bow, let them "Tank" from a distance with some Shadewalker style mechanic for their pet...

OK, probably best to keep Samurai and Beast Master separate, I just wanted to mention Yojimbo... A proper pet tank would be quite interesting though, and Beast Master is somewhat similar to Warrior in terms of gear identity... Hey, we had a one handed sword wielder and two handed axe wielder, to getting a two handed sword wielder... Makes sense to me for the next tank to be a one handed axe wielder...

I would love to see a mage tank (yeah, can tank with magic shields without needing a heavy armor), mainly RDM or BLU, and a pet tank, would love to see PUP doing that, with a similar amount of characterization it had on FFXI.

I can see a mage tank working. Just like a stance give them a spell that alters stats or such. Hopefully we can see a mage-tank at some point, only cus I've yet to see a game pull it off.
