Kinda seems out of place to me too. Also, I had never heard of it until today - so not much Hype. As a SCH main, SMN alt, I care little for weapon glamours too =(

Rest of the announcements seemed... like not announcements. "We've already told you about this, but we are doing it and we aren't going to give you anymore details!" for like everything. So, I feel like there wasn't much new out of this letter?

I feel like us ACN deserve better glamours..What we do get book-wise is pretty plain. Ooh our book has a moogle face on it..yaaaay-insert sarcastic laugh- Every other class has primal weapons n stuff that stand out..but we have very few.

Personally, I'd like an emperors new book - as I think the animations would look pretty cool if I was casting stuff over my open hand instead of open book.

That does sound pretty awesome! I'd use it. They have one for monks so why stop there? Some classes may look weird but I feel the casters would fit very well with an invisible weapon.

I think part of the reason for that is that books are hard to change the mold for, you can make big swords, little swords, gloves, knuckledusters, all kinds of different staffs. But a book is a book and all they can really do is change the cover and add a few bells and whistles

Idea:
An animated book with a face on it that insults/shouts at your combat target. xD

oh, but not every single attack..that would be annoying.

I would kill for one of the smn books to be a pop-up book with 3 or 4 different pop-up illustrations

That makes me want to see a class that creates paintings that come to life and has them attack/heal their target
