My thoughts about the live letter? If only they'd put so much effort in our regular events as they did in the collab event, I'd be much more impressed by the 3.x series so far.
But yeah, the collab event seemed to have much more content than the 3.3 patch xD (I know it's not true but that's my impression of it at least for this live letter).

As you go deeper into the dungeon, the environment will look different. As you can see in the images, the weapon is glowing and that's the weapon you will be upgrading as you challenge this dungeon. There are items which can only be used inside this dungeon.
My inventory weeps the fact that Palace of the Dead has its own items to use there... The weapons specifically... I'd like to play around with Jobs in there, but if I need a specific weapon? Screw that... Can we expand the Armoury Chest yet? Please? You're going to have to when you add new Jobs anyway...

Hopefully it's more a case of, since these items are apparently unique to the dungeon, it just sort of Glamours over your existing stuff, rather than being an independent weapon/etc. that you need to carry...

There's still a lot more to reveal about 3.3, I'm sure. Yo-Kai Watch was just the main focus today, and rightfully so, considering Akihiro Hino was the guest for the event.

Yokia Watch stuff Aside, I found it a decent live letter for a part 1, if a tad rushed. Part 1 live letters are always rather light on details. Dungeons look cool, Deep Dungeon and treasure dungeon really interest me and I know Ill like the Weeping City of Mhach. MSQ looks set to be exciting. End of the Dragonsong war, its going to be something substantial though I really expect a curveball at the end. Hildibrand will be good and Moogle quests.... we will see.

Yokia Watch stuff isn't really my thing but I don't really find it worse than the King Moogle Mog stuff.

3.3 will likely release right at the end of May or very early June. The next live letter is May 22nd so My guess is the patch will drop on the 31th of May at the earliest and the 14th of June at the latest.

They said we will be getting more armoury slots but I suspect we won't see them until the expansion.

A second type of relic that requires skill instead of simply grinding.
dunno my impression was you gotta do it grouped 1st until make some progress or atleast upgrade gear b4 attempting it solo ;p

That might seem a frivolous complaint, when we're talking about an MMO already filled with particle effect weapons/armor and enemy models ripped wholesale from other Final Fantasy titles, but this is in blatant disregard for FFXIV's extant set of design principles and is a general hallmark for a self-destructive slippery-slope that has in the past ruined better games.

    Case and point:

Considering we already have "silly" stuff like tanks in bikinis and lalas in chocobo suits, you are years too late to complain about the game going the silly route.

It seems like a decent selection of things to do. I'm pretty happy. At first I was worried the collaboration would be another Japan-only thing but I guess it will be worldwide; great.
Well you can only hold like 14, 1 per retainer = 8 (better get those extra 6), I believe it's 4 mail with attached item now = 12, 1 in inventory, and 1 opened = 14

Between 8 friends (Probably crafter/gatherer friends for 8retainers) preparing that's 112 chances to enter lol

Those things are thematically silly, but the design of the aforementioned bikinis and chocobo suits are at least congruent with the world. eg. if you go to Camp Tranquil you can see NPCs in those same swimsuits, because these things exist and the characters clearly acknowledge them.
Now I'm not fond of particle effects, and the overly festooned weapons and mounts XIV already has, but this Youkai Watch stuff is different; they're designed, modeled and textured disparately to the rest of FFXIV's assets. Presumably because they were prepared offsite by Level-5 and SE was paid a sum to implement them, but that's besides the point. Details such as this make your brain itch: it's unsettling, and it erodes the player's sense of immersion. Moreover it indicates a lack of conviction on the part of the developers, for permitting the inclusion of objects so-far divorced from the game's established aesthetic
