Perhaps not a Primal, then. Perhaps Oha Sok was/is an Eikon? An Elemental raised to godlike status by their Elemental kin?

Primal and Eikon are the same thing. The nomenclature is only different due to age. Eikon is an ancient word for summoned beings, while Primal is a modern word for summoned beings.

The elementals aren't primals. Elementals are part of the natural world itself. They are creatures that live on a plane of existence separate from our own, but intersecting it just enough that they are still part of the physical world.

Primals and Eikons aren't the same thing. Unukalhai specifically says so, though has failed to explain how they are different. The Garleans use the terms to mean the same, because they are ignorant of how the Allagans used the term Eikon.

And yes, I know the Elementals are the spirits of the land, I'm simply suggesting that Oha-Sok itself may be an Eikon, speculating that Eikons are natural beings raised to a godlike status by their worshippers, and that Oha-Sok went through such a process by the other Elementals.

As far as I'm aware, Eikons are Primals... It's a finger/thumb thing; All thumbs are fingers, but not all fingers are thumbs. All Eikons are Primals, they adhere to the same set of rules (draining aether/etc.), but they have some special property that makes them distinct, meaning not all Primals are Eikons. What ever caused the Allag to make that distinction is unknown, but we could do exactly the same thing; Shiva and Thordan are Espers, Primals specifically summoned onto and controlled by an individual. They're still Primals, but that distinction is worth noting and potentially labeling...

I wonder if there's a connection to the original Nirvana Staff in the Zodiac Braves? All the description was that it was a staff that gain consciousness as soon as it's owner "ascended" But what if Oha Sok did the same thing (sealed herself within Nirvana) and decided to help save mankind in the Zodiac Brave's time?
Or, Oha Sok was created by the Zodiac Braves Nirvana (didn't their weapons only gain consciousness at the end of their quest?) and later settled down in Twelveswood? What was the timeline on the Zodiac Braves again? What happens to a conscious weapon over the years? Does it live longer than its owner? Does it die at all?

We're now forcibly giving weapons consciousness with the Anima weapons quest and, fancy that, they manifest themselves very similarly to how the Elementals and Oha Sok used to...

Yeah, I was wondering about the connection between Elementals and the manifested anima. Many people seem to think it's just recycled assets, especially since Elementals are no longer seen (except for that 1 CNJ quest in 2.0)

The time line is iffy, but isn't the Zodiac Braves Heroes of the 6th Umbral (Flood) Era; which will mean that the Elementals predated them since they taught the Amdapori WHM
