Why are we doing Expert Roulette for the game's best gear?

Unfortunately this, instead of being a constructive thread with suggestions, turned out to be a whine thread. Of course the progression can be tweaked and worked on, but so far no one has given any elaborate ideas.

You can leave feedback without suggestions or have an opinion and not be whining. I'm guessing she's not a game developer full of creative ideas that would likely be ignored anyway. There are tons of other threads with suggestions, though. I guess she could have posted there instead of creating a thread, but not having suggestions for improvement does not make feedback irrelevant. We're consumers paying for a product, not developers.

How can you clear Midas as many times as she has and NOT have anything to show for it on your main? I get people want to gear other jobs, but your main comes first.

Why? If you aren't running savage, you don't need to have the best gear right away. She shouldn't be getting kicked for wearing a couple of 190 pieces unless she's also playing poorly too. For one of my characters, I spend lore tomes on my tank and midas tokens on my other jobs. If you don't run midas for whatever reason (for example, no patience for losing roll 30 times on one token), you can use esoterics, but you also need esoterics for relic tokens or astral oils. It's kind of annoying how many things are locked behind the previous tier's currency.

It's whining because not only did she make up criteria about the quality, criteria, and availability of the weapons, but she made the choice to limit her time to only being able to run DREX. That's not feedback, it's some kind of odd, entitled whining.

Proper feedback is constructive, not a bunch of falsehoods and half truths propping up whining.

I do agree that most groups shouldn't or wouldn't kick for the gear she has on her tank, with the execptions of some Seph EX or Savage groups, so I was working on the assumption that it was a combination of that and player skill. Other than that, maybe her static, but if you are part of a static and prioritize leveling everything over gearing their main, well thats a deserved kick.

She addressed the other content and said it's a slower way of accumulating the same currency, which is true. Not everyone wants to spam The Feast. I can't stand pvp in this game at all. None of the other roulettes give anywhere near as much lore as expert roulette. She said doesn't do statics, so obviously savage becomes difficult there. I dunno about Jenova, but the only PFs I see related to savage on Hyperion lately are fill-ins for current groups. I haven't seen an A5S learning party in weeks. It's definitely not like 2.x where you could clear every coil turn through PF, but I guess it could be like that again in a few months.

So what were the falsehoods? Some pieces of lore gear are best even if you do savage raid. I don't really understand the hostility I guess. It's totally possible to disagree without looking up someone's lodestone and attacking her gear. :/

Edit: Right after I wrote this, an A6S learning group went in PF lol. That just sounds painful, though.

Because 230 gear is not the best gear in the game. 240/245 is.

I thought I wouldn't actually spell it out like that. Do you know how you get the best gear in the game? You raid, which is what she even said you should have to do. I hope you understand what "best" is, because from what you have said, either you don't, or you didn't know there was 240/245.

I also thought PVP was the quickest way to cap. And you also get a large portion of your cap, just by doing the weekly things. So you know, if you take out the best gear, and you take out the quickest way then part of what she said might be right.

Also, she chose to do it via ex roulette, she chose to limit the time she had to run lore related content, she chose not to run pvp, she chose to not get crafted or Midas gear for the class she was getting lore gear for, she chose not to do the relic, or get the seph weapon, or the lore one for that class. I hope you are seeing a trend here.

Gordias
Midas
Void Ark
60 Dungeons
Hunts
Maybe 50 roulette?

These are all methods of getting lore. There are probably more.


If you take say two runs of each Midas to get your loot, Void Ark weekly, and Trial Roulette, that is 170/450 right there. 5 A ranks puts you to 270/450, throw in 3 Ex and you are capped. There is actually a pretty large variety of ways to cap lore quickly. There is also a large variety of gear comparible to the 230 lore gear.

Pretty much everything she has said is BS. Also when someone is complaining about their gear this deep into a cycle, it's fairly standard to check their setup. Choosing to gear multiple classes is on them, so they really can only bitch at themselves. But honestly, spewing a bunch of bs about it is laughable, and take the validity away from anything they said.

You missed treasure hunts, but I digress. People always want to get things fast as possible, but I never understood why. It's not like you'll forever be exiled from groups if you don't cap every week.

Well, to be fair, she had a good reason to want to get them fast. But leveling every class in the game is 100% her choice, and instead of being happy that she is able to have that choice, she wanted to piss and moan that she not only was able to do that, but also gear up a main while doing it! And mulitiple ways to get that gear so you don't get too burnt out! For shame SE! How could you!?
