    One thing to note is that the glowing lava-like texture is only visible when you're in active mode. They look much more tame when they're sheathed. I do think they need to be thinned/resized, however.

    leave it to this community to complain about content....

    developers put time and effort into the new weapons and for people to just come right out and complain that its ugly or doesn't fit in the game and they should redo it is appalling.

    if u eat an apple and it tastes bad, put it down and eat something else. dont keep eating the apple and complain that it tastes bad after every bite. its sad.

    like how we switched to a new development team at the beginning of retail? maybe thats the reason why the new weapons look different than the previous ones.

    Honestly. We have every right to complain. We want the game to do well and we'll do our best to try and guide the developers down a path we think will be best for the game.
    But it doesn't mean we can't be mature about it.

    its so common for businesses to change direction once something starts failing.

    SE already told us they are going to overhaul the game, it should be assumed that the art direction is part of that.... its amazing to me that you can say its not excusable to change direction.

    changing the art direction halfway through production is one of the best times to do it, not after production and if your original ideas arent working then you wait for during production.

    yes it is excusable, the game is being directed differently than originally planned and whether anyone likes it or not art is part of that.
    ALL of our gear right now is bland and un-creative yet you have two bad guys walking around with suuuper elaborate head gear and no ones said anything about the head gear not fitting in.... because to me it doesnt. do i think they look cool? hell yeah! do i think they match anything else in game AT THE MOMENT? hell no.

    Again, you never really ever responded to my reason as to why they don't fit with the Eorzean art direction. These aren't Eorzean weapons, they're weapons from the Lord of the Inferno Ifrit.
