Anima Weapons. Putting things into perspective.

I had these ideas in my head for awhile now but this step is so...layered that there are multiple ways to nerf it

• Not require Speiclaists (already done)
• Less Unidentifiables and/or crafted stuff for Cristina's wares
• Less Beastmen tokens for Unidentifiables
• Less Tomes for Unidentifiables
• Less Seals for Unidentifiables
• Ixali Oaknots, Centurio Seals and Wolf Marks for Unidentifiables or mats (possible, but probably unwelcome in the latter case given the reaction to Feast jobbing)
• More Alexander Drops/Less Alexander tokens
• Increased BT Tokens
• Allowing the rest of the BT quests (the ones from Rank 1 and 2) to drop Tokens
• Increased drops form maps

And one that might go to both this and the following step (as such they will be highly unlikely until say, 4.1?)

• Aether Oil + A choice of Undentifiables for Primal Focus
• Adding Unidentifiables to the Gift of the Archmagus quest's optional items pool
• Making the above quest daily quests instead of Weekly

The top list has enough options that SE can make getting the 210 weapon only 1% or so easier and appease the people wanting 210 step to be nerfed. Of tcouse this all depends on if all the subsequent steps are as quick and easy as the current one, which seems very unlikely

I think they just made the numbers so high so that they could continuously and easily nerf it as expansions come out.
First 40ui/8 craft, then 20 ui/4 craft, then 10/2, and at some point the cost of the UI and dumb down to NQ crafts.

Actually i believe the whole process of the Anima weapons is not made with the mindset that people will grind it out in a few days, they are made to casually get all the items needed in the course of 1-2 months. I mean just by doing some Roulettes every day, some hunts here and there and maybe some daily beast tribe quests you can easily get all the required items for the 200-210 step in a month or so. Now about the HQ crafted items, they cost about 1.5m gil which is not so much if you save up for 1-2 months of casual playing and utilize your retainers.

For me the first step aka Atma Grind v2 is the worst, the reason for this is that you are forced to grind out fates even if you wouldn't do so normally. It's just too much hassle to get an ilvl 170 weapon. In any case i'm pretty sure by the next step is released both the 170 and 210 steps will get nerfed to allow people to catch up so if you feel like its too much of a grind for now just w8 for 1 more patch to start.

Now about the HQ crafted items, they cost about 1.5m gil which is not so much if you save up for 1-2 months of casual playing and utilize your retainers.

1.5 Mil for all 16? How incredibly lucky you are. They're almost 6 million on my server.

gladly i finished my weapon a few weeks ago because i just realized instead of a nerf - they made it even harder with 3.2 to get the 210 weapon.

before the patch you got 100 or even 120 law tomes in a dungeon. now you only get 80 esoterics for one dungeon, but the items still cost the same amount of tomes :x

This is highly server dependent. I've been selling them on my server for 300-400k each.

I should really look into jenovas prices. If they are high enough, I'm going to have to unlock at least one to craft and sell, to make up for the others. I'm rebuilding my bank account after three classes of 220 gear, so I can't just go out and spen millions on a relic for a class with sub par stats (NIN)right now.

True, but how quickly one can be obtained wasn't really my point, which was that the combination of the time and effort needed for a Lore 230 is different than the time and effort for even just the relic 210, much less the relic 230

You can work on the ilevel 230 relic parallel while working on the ilevel 210 relic.

Yeah, I just bought them all on Brynhildr - was 5.5 mil
