Zidane's outfit (Tantalus set) takes 3 years to get and that's a bit of a long wait for a pair of glamour pants. I don't know about others but I wouldn't design a glamour around an item I'm getting in 2018. The watch was a very nice catch though. For fans of casual jeans, Zidane's outfit actually provides a very nice level 1 dyeable pair.
The wristband you get for doing 500 or so GC leves for the immortal flames looks like a very nice golden watch. The two other companies' wristbands could pass for one also, but aren't as chic.

Nah, I think that having more than a handful of modern looking glamours just wouldn't fit the style of the game. I don't mind a few here or there though like the miqo'te hempen top, or certain pants looking like jeans when dyed certain colors, etc. As long as it fit with the lore of the game, but isn't overbearing.

No! Please not!
First comes real world clothes. Then pilot clothes. Then those school uniforms. Then Steampunk... and it ends with a crazy amount of stupid glamour-gear. DONT! Please dont get started with that! You will kill the last bit of immersion we still have in this game. Dont make the same mistakes, like other MMORPGs before (Aion, Tera Online, PSO2, Blade and Soul, Black Desert maybe?).
Just remember, what FFXIV is all about. Its a fantasy online game with magic and a bit technology (magitek). It sure have some modern looking clothes already, but that is more than enough. You have so much good looking clothes (for example ironworks gear, allagan gear, midas gear, artifact gear) already, which fit the actual theme very well.
Dont get me wrong. I m absolutely not against modern real world clothes in general. I dont think its that bad to see other players with hoodies and jeans, because we already have some clothes like that. I m also not against more variety.
But I m afraid, that SE could mess it up, by adding more and more ridiculous clothes, that kills the very last immersion we have. Modern clothes are ok I guess, but that should be the an exception. No modern school uniforms, no fucking steampunk shit and please no pilot-/marine-nonsense. Just stay at your traditional final-fantasy-styled clothings.

I'd love at least a hoodie model. I can glamour the rest.

I don't want to be that person but I'd just say I wouldn't be too surprised if they brought out school uniforms before 4.0
Not real world uniforms i'd say but it wouldn't surprise me.
You can actually make a pretty convincing school girl outfit just using the Sailor top and valentine legs. However I don't think most people are asking for "I <3 Gridania" or anything, just simple styles. I mean we do seem to be progressing into the future of fashion, I mean all the new glamour armor like the High House Bustle and Justaucorps look like they were ripped right from the 1800s.

I don't know if it will fit well in ffxiv... but if people want it; ....![]()

And to think, All i wanted was a t-shirt to wear with my shorts. I never thought that this thread would get so much attention.
Thank you everyone for all your feedback. (For and against)

way to over-dramatize it; please don't compare a hoodie, with jelly arms....it's...A SHIRT!! there's plenty of shirts in game, why would a hoodie be as bad as jelly arms? please...Yeah, why don't we replace our arms with jello and use our fancy jello-arms to fly while we're at it? Y'know since because it's fantasy and we can do whatever we want! Because some ideas are stupid and don't fit the setting, genius. Frankly I think some of the clothes already IN the game are guilty of that, but we definitely don't need an abercrombie and fitch catalogue floating around in Weaver books. Go play a game in a modern setting if you want modern trendy clothes.
you know...they could add a hoodie, without IRL symbols? you're just being ridiculous telling me to go play other games; Allagan anyone? ya that's not modern at all - pretty much every single FF game has modern attributes, get over yourself; no one asked for A&F set.
Your hairstyle looks modern and trendy, maybe you should change it, or go play other games with trendy hairstyles! -.-
they could add hoodies with a eorzean touch, that match the setting, without looking like IRL stuff.
the only thing that is stupid, is your shortsightedness and close-mindedness.
except every ironworks item, and everything garlean and allagan, and goblin, and machinist/guns, and airships, etc?Nah, I think that having more than a handful of modern looking glamours just wouldn't fit the style of the game. do you realize you just shot yourself in the foot there? they have modern looking stuff....that fits the actual theme very well..../gasp, maybe they could do it again???

Its not really ' modern looking ' its steam punk sci-fi which we don't even have in real life, unless you want a steam punk sci-fi hoodie your point is a little in-valid we don't have ANY airships that look like FF airships, so again its hardly a friggin hoodie.. lol. But anyway, you will get casual clothing with FF15 like we get FF13 clothes in Mog station / events. And to add, saying we have guns ( must of the guns are a older style ) why don't we have hoodies? Because SE has put they're own twist on them they're not ' real life ' weapons they're SE steam punk style. So again, if you want a steam punk hoodie sure but most people are asking for plain or really strict hoodies not SE styled fashion. Everything you take as your points we have Sci-fi steam punk ' modern ' items, they're not the ' modern ' items we have in real life unless we have sci-fi ironworks gear I am not aware of?except every ironworks item, and everything garlean and allagan, and goblin, and machinist/guns, and airships, etc?
