Lackluster Graphics in FFXIV

You do understand if you play on low setting vs high you do see how good the game is? top of that it's working on DX9 for my understand SE said they update it in 5years or less take a chill pill the game still looks good for a mmo you can't compare to a offline game or -.- wow.

They made it dx9 so window xp can play the game for users who still play on that system. i'm guessing they update it when window 7 become more mainstream later on maybe the first Pack of the game. The game have no limit vs ffxi because they said they would update it for pc to dx10 and dx11 later on.

So at the end this is a pointless topic.

Yup it is useless, so why don't we ask a mod to close it up?

Because i may find it a useless topic on something SE said base on the information of interview does not mean that others may find this a pointless topic. My point is that game look nice for a mmo, Rift look nice but i find FFXIV too look better on max setting. When they add dx10 and dx11 eyecandy the game would need a much better Video card which wont be out too 2-5years so it may be best to hold on it for now. top of that DX9 was best to allow window xp to play this game which it seem a lot of user are still using.

Never said it didn't looked nice, read what I wrote way up (back) on this thread that everyone ignored, the game is FINE, but nobody cares and keep complaining, whinning and q.quing about game graphics, and compare them to other game's ones and bla bla bla... they end up becoming trolls... TROLLING this nice game's forums :/

By all means i was not pointing what i said about you am just giving my point of view about this topic. WoW came out 2004 and FFXI is 2years older and look better. FFXIV look better then any mmo out there i saw video and clips of Rift and it look like any other mmo out there it really look like Aion and a free mmo i played but with better graphics. FFXIV water look very nice on high setting and by far best looking mmo out there.

Now graphic wise i think ppl just like the look of other mmo but does not mean it graphic are better then ffxiv.

the only thing that i hate about FFXIV is when you walking in the city you see the walls loading up and as you move so at first everything far look bad then they look nice when you load them. But i'm guessing this is due to the fact there no zones like ffxi so we have to load the city walls and image as we move in the world.
