Lackluster Graphics in FFXIV

lol the character models look great, but thats not only issue here. Un-Game, Un-set, un-match lol. The character models aren't the whole game and 2 pics definately doesn't end anything.

Cause you ppl actually TRY to hang on details to find a reason to bash the game instead of stop playing it.
If you're gonna complain about the water in FFXIV then Ill complain about the caracters in other MMOs.
If you're gonna complain about the shadows in FFXIV I'll complain about the lack of detail in about everything else in any other MMO.
You talk about details, I talked about major stuff like your whole damn character.

FFXIV lacks serious basic stuff like keyword search in retainers, or mounts, or mail system, or working stats, or working hate and battle system, or content for that matter and people like the OP worry about petty details that can be worked around after FFXIV starts making sence gameplay wise.

Do you really think that right now is the time for S-E to focus on these petty details and not in actual gameplay aspects?
I for one do not, and that's the main reason why I am completely against this topic.

In a few words: I don't give two s**** if they ever fix shadows or water, what's curently there works fine as long as they fix the stuff I already mentioned.

Just because SUCK is the standard in MMOs, doesn't mean everyone has to settle for it. The technology is available. There's no reason SE couldn't implement it - especially if they had used a better game engine.

Stop double-posting plox - Why don't you guys end this nonsense?, what's the point of debating this kind of irrelevant topic of "Which game looks the most badass"? ATM for me FFXIV just looks FINE, and barely needs some graphical improvements, if you feel like argueing over this for the rest of your days, you're free to do so but do it in PM thanks (Spamming nonsense just to increase your post counts won't make you look any better guys ^^ )

so your not complaining about the water but the reason it does not reflecting? i know i stop at a city and look at the water and though how awesome it is. Have you play the game at full setting with everything on? FFXIV look awesome on a nice 1080p TV on full setting i can't say that about Rift which just came out. Shadow in FFXIV on high setting does look better then on low setting i hate shadow so i leave that off.

They would add DX10 and DX11 later on for now deal with it.

lol you like that set match statement but its still not true. you hang out haning on to your opinion instead of helping the game develop in some easy to fix manners that shouldn't even be problems. How did you talk about whole character you just showed 2 screenshots. the other things you talk about are also problems. However what you see as petty is not my concern nor is your opinion of what I feel are problems a concern to me. Please stop calling me you people also lol. Also in a few words I dont give two s***** what you want them to fix first I just want to play a game that hasn't got such obvious graphical problems. They could have a real character model standing under a roof getting rained on and itll kill the immersion just as bad as red agro dots, etc.
