First off, xiv =/= xi. That thinking really needs to die.If they just gave the mount to everyone it wouldn't be as cool as it is now,
This isn't wow where the loser still gets a ribbon.
ffxi was king and set a standard for how rng loot payouts work, 0/200? try 1/620 for stuff in xi. Just because the game is newer doesn't mean it needs to be easier.
With your plan, I would do 10 bismarks a day, for 10 days, and have the mount... see how that works? then everyone will have it.

Secondly, yes I can do the math too. 10 runs a day, 10 days. Awesome. You banged it out quick. What about the person who can do 20 a day? 5 days. Now, think about the average player, only getting a handful of hours an evening to play. Say they do 3 runs a day, along with their other things they gotta do. Roulettes, their weekly void ark run, beast tribe dailies, centurio seal hunts, if they have a static trying at midas savage, ect. If they do 3 runs a day for a little over a month they'll get it. What if they can't play or do those 3 runs every single day for a month straight? Will take them even longer. That's all to say that they don't get lucky and a whistle drops, they roll high and get it after say 10 runs. (and this is just bismark ex for example) Cause each bird will take 99 of their primal's token to purchase.
Going for all 4? Your way you'd have them all in 40 days. The average joe/jill, it'll be July before they see their final one if they do 3 runs a day every single day without missing a day, which is SOOOOOO unlikely that it's laughable.
The whole suggestion, is just a way to go with WHY they put the tokens in originally was for the weapons. To counteract RNG screwing some players over.

99 totems but a lanner whistle ain't one?

I think you maybe confused this isn't XI and it can't be compared to XIV they are completely different. If they just gave the mount to everyone it wouldn't be as cool as it is now,

For Ravana and Bismarck, the only thing that having a bird at this point means is that you were able to beat RNG. That is not an accomplishment - horrible drop rates do not make a game "hard".If they just gave the mount to everyone it wouldn't be as cool as it is now,

If you are looking to feel special for awhile, I'd recommend farming the other two. Not many group are clearing those successfully at this time and you can feel superior for awhile until the main player base catches up.
This game is INSANELY casual. I played XI for years, and I loved it, but it's ridiculous to try and compare XIV to XI. New games don't have to be easy, but the developers of this specific game have chosen to go that route. If you aren't able to obtain a bird after 100 runs, it just means that RNG hates you, and that gets frustrating for a lot of people.

Can't agree with this more. Further more, you only get a token/totem for a successful run. I personally don't know how many times with just rav ex and bis ex that I've had parties that just didn't have the dps or the tanks (for bis ex) just couldn't do the tank swap. So that took even more time with not even the consolation prize of a token. For Ravana and Bismarck, the only thing that having a bird at this point means is that you were able to beat RNG. Run 162 of bismark extreme: rolled a 94 and just about jumped for joy.. only to find out that someone rolled a 96. Screw RNG.. Come on devs, 99 tokens for the whistle isn't asking for a lot.
I agree with this.... i only farm mount to cap tomes, when full i stop. Drop chance is hilarious and then you have to pray to RNGjesus.
Get a little unlucky, and you'll never ever get your mount even if you do nothing else 24/7.
It''s not like 99 totems are fast to get....
I admit there's bias due to my experience in farming for these birds. So anyone who may post against what I say, please be aware I acknowledge this. (lol)
I have to question the fairness of rng in cases like this. People say "rng is rng" and "it's fair" etc. But is it? Really? When has a person run it enough to deserve it? Maybe that question screams of entitlement, but that's not so black and white when you start comparing the people who've run bis or rav 150+ times then joe shmo wins a bird happily exclaiming "nice! XD 2nd try". This has been my experience. Do I believe I deserve it more than they do, I dunno if I'd put it that way. But for the time I've put in and aggravation I've felt at never ending low rolls I think I've earned it, as have others in this position.
Such an experience only makes people hate the content they previously enjoyed doing even if they want the birds badly. There's no end in sight, no real sense of progress. We have these tokens that could easily be used for the birds and if some people think 99 is too easy, then make it 200 tokens. Just imagine the average player trying to get 200 Thordan tokens; that'd still keep the birds rare for quite some time wouldn't it. We need some kinda thing to fall back on. With tokens as plan B they could leave the drop rate as low as it is forever.
