    Old mat/crafts

Im curious if we will ever see a reduction of mats required for stuff like darksteel ingot, vanya silks and such, do we really need 9 coke, potash, animal fat, etc. still? My FC goes through 4-5 stacks of this stuff each when we do some upgrading to airships and not really seeing these kind of numbers in the newer crafts. Just glad these mats are cheap, my main fit is just the shear number we need and space all this stuff takes up when we save up...so yeah...

Does a coat going out of fashion make it take any less fabric to manufacture?

    Answer, No of course not.

The fact that the materials become ridiculously cheap and easyer to get is really all the compensation you can, or should, expect with old recipies.

Really? Do you know what it takes to make an Adamantite Ingot? Hell even base materials. One Dark Iron Nugget only requires 3 Dark Iron ore and 1 Iron ore. Adamantite nuggets require 5 Adamantite ore and 1 Dark Iron ore.

More to the point Airships are supposed to be a major investment to upgrade. Frankly they are relatively new and current content.

Rather make the investment with fewer rarer mats than, mass abundant of cheap mats... Just one airship part needed almost like 6 stacks of x99 coke, for the darksteel and garlond. So when it comes down to it trying to do an airship set just packs the living daylights out of the inventory and chest. Also to say these crafts are out fashion isnt really true, still use a lot of these crafts regularly. Like I said I have a fit more about the space than anything else...

My response to this is the more skilled you get, you may be able to do more with less waste, and that's why you need less mats or can increase the yield. I think it would be a nice idea for some things.

If you have 3 stacks of coke, maybe it is time to craft them away instead of buy a 4th stack of coke. They are already cheap enough so you don't have to save them up.

At this point I'm more amazed that wyvern leather requires 3 hides to make one scrap. That, if anything, is a contention point. After all, up until level 50 every single piece of leather only requires a single hide, now suddenly you need three? And dragons are orders of magnitude bigger than most of the smaller animals we can craft leather out of, so there's going to be a lot more hide to boot.

Wouldn't be so bad if the drop rate for skins wasn't so poor as to force us to use retainer ventures for guaranteed drops.

The FC workshop projects are supposed to be group projects. Its supposed to be a large amount to gather so it is shared among multiple people. A small amount of rarer materials is more a project for a solo or small amount of highly geared players. It kind of defeats the purpose of having crafting projects for a FC.

I will agree though that space is an issue. I've dealt with it by doing single projects at a time and clearing out anything not being used for the current or next project.

Hmm. I actually like that idea. That could resemble "Trade Mastery" from real life since, for example, a Master Blacksmith is going to need less metal to work with than his apprentice because of knowing how to make better steel with less slag.

it's not a group project though since a lot of people in fcs do it alone since they are the only crafter/gatherer there.
