At this point I'm more amazed that wyvern leather requires 3 hides to make one scrap. That, if anything, is a contention point. After all, up until level 50 every single piece of leather only requires a single hide, now suddenly you need three? And dragons are orders of magnitude bigger than most of the smaller animals we can craft leather out of, so there's going to be a lot more hide to boot.

Wouldn't be so bad if the drop rate for skins wasn't so poor as to force us to use retainer ventures for guaranteed drops.

Hmm. I actually like that idea. That could resemble "Trade Mastery" from real life since, for example, a Master Blacksmith is going to need less metal to work with than his apprentice because of knowing how to make better steel with less slag.

I think the problem is that the 2.0 crafting material mentality was to have 9 relatively cheap tomestone materials for a single endgame crafting attempt. This was a bad idea because: #1 it created storage clutter, #2 it made crafting rewards in dungeons kind of pointless, who wants only one coke? SE recognized this as a mistake, because from 2.2 onward, endgame crafts only required one of each tomestone currency item (each roughly 9 times the price of what the 2.0 mats had been).

So the OP is asking if those original 2.0 crafting reagents (coke, potash, animal fat, etc) will ever be cut down to needing only one per crafted item to match the later trend. This was definitely something I was hoping for back when I was building my original airships. They could raise the price of coke from GC vendors, while changing recipes to require a single coke rather than 9. Crafting stacks would become smaller, and you wouldn't have to purchase as many items to make the same thing for the same cost.

Then SE finally added a selectable quantity tab to the GC vendors, so that you can simply buy 99 coke all at once to make 11 darksteel ingots. Gone are the days of clicking your mouse 99 times individually. So no... other than stack sizes and making rewards from brayflox HM more sensible, there really is no more reason to reduce the number of 2.0 mats needed for crafting 2.0 items. It's become a minor annoyance only, even for hardcore airship crafters.

They did make a reduction; they made those 9 coke/potash etc available thru gc seals.

My fc doesn't have problems with those - when we run lvl 50 roulette we loot that stuff and mostly people don't know what to do with GC seals so they buy them, in the end we have a lot of those, and with all upgrades I did to the airships (only crafter in the fc); i never had problems with missing them at all °__°

Just send some fc members to get them with gc seals.

    Answer, No of course not.
Then why does it take so much more Yak Milk to craft anything than previous milks and recipes. :-p Higher level recipes have inflated mats requirement nullifying arguments as to how many of any item is needed. It's all an arbitrary grind and has no basis in actual practical need.
