    +1 for this thread!

I LOVE Uematsu's work; he was half the reason I played FF games back in the day (when he still composed music for them, and not just one or two tracks mind you), whether I realized it at the time or not. His music definitely defined a lot of the most impactful moments in the series.

However, with that said. . . what... is up... with FFXIV's soundtrack?! It's... horrible! Well, not horrible, because there are some good tracks in it, but sometimes when I'm playing this game the repetition of the music makes me wanna rip my hair out, and a lot of the time it doesn't even fit with the environment or situation I'm in. Battle/leve/behest music = horrible. Thanalan music = horrible. Uldah original music = horrible (keep company music plzzzzzzzz!). This game's soundtrack is seriously lacking in terms of epic. We need some good old fashioned epic, fantasy style Nobuo Uematsu music here, not some stupid pop electric guitar crap. I really think that Yoshi P should ask Uematsu to compose some new tracks for the game. Most of the music just seriously lacks any sort of atmospheric value. Can I please hear something that actually reflects fantasy, adventure, danger, mysticism and/or the environment that I'm in?
