    Clarification on some of the stat changes?

    Could we get some clarification on the new changes to stats in 1.19? Will str still effect how much damage is blocked with shield? What about mnd and pie? Do they both improve max MPs? If not, does mnd only increase magic defense now? Just would like clarification please.

    It would be nice to have but just from the wording of the notes I'm going to assume that all stats affect what they did before. It seems that they're only changing the effectiveness of the stats.

    For example, this is what I believe (these are not actual numbers, just an example for simplicity sake):
    pre-1.19: 50 STR adds 5 Attack Power to AA swings.
    post-1.19: 50 STR adds 20 Attack Power to AA swings.

    Causing a more visual change in stat allocation.

    I was really surprised we didn't get a post on the changes to stats. Its funny, and dont get me wrong, we got like 13 posts-videos on chocobos but nothing on something as critical as stat influence which really has an impact on gear materia etc.

    Thats one thing i hope improves...The amount of information given ingame about actions and stats. like mouse over tool tips etc. I am against hidden stats/info in every way.

    Im glad that we're getting auto attribute allocation first so people that may not be experienced, have some idea as to what stats are most beneficial for their class/job. And then the option to choose between auto or manual in 1.20.

    Dont forget we still have the official final patch notes on Tuesday, so we'll probably see even more detail by then.

    SE isn't known for handing this kind of information out though. I think your best bet is to download a parsing program and you can test for yourself right off the fly. Otherwise, you may be waiting 1-2 weeks for players to post the data they have.

    I agree and hope that eventually we can mouse-over accumulated stats and get an idea of how that calculates into damage, block, evasion, accuracy and what not.

    "Optional" is really not optional at all, so I wonder why they included the auto-allocation system.

    The community will dictate how stats will be distributed among classes and jobs, so we'll all be using the "optional" system anyway.

    The thing that is kind of annoying, and maybe if I thought real hard I could figure it out, is why stats have diminishing returns as you level up but the stats from gear gain value. Why not just make it linear...? By making it non-linear it is going to get a hell of lot more complicated to figure out, for example, the relative merit of STR vs. Attack say vs. Accuracy. Oh well, guess will have to see it is once implemented.
