


If they add 3 DPS classes, you can say goodbye to Duty Finder for, at least, 6 months.Actually, Samurai used a version of lamellar armor. It was indeed lighter than the plate armor of the European knight, but still pretty heavy by armor standards, with a full set weighing somewhere between 40-60 lbs. That's quite a bit of weight to be running around a battlefield in and this is displayed in much of the art of samurai sprites in Final Fantasy.
That being said, from a gameplay standpoint, it makes more sense for Samurai to be included as a DPS at this point. The tank meta is still in flux and introducing another tank into the mix would only create massive imbalance. I bet we see SAM as a melee DPS, some type of melee caster (mystic knight or red mage), and a possibly a melee pet class (beastmaster... complete with whip I hope).
