Samurai & Red Mage cross skills

So we all know that these classes are coming, but what cross skills should they take?

I think if Samurai were to be a tank
GLA/ROG
Or DPS
PUG/ROG

Red Mage is up in the air as to what role(s) they could play.
Healer: CNJ/THM
DPS: PUG/ACN
Tank: GLA/THM

So what are some of your predictions?

I don't think they would give anyone ROG for cross class.

LNC is required. Invigorate+B4B is too invaluable

Won't at least they put Mutilation as cross class skill? Since Archer's Venomous Bite or Marauder's Fracture can cross class.

I may be shunned for this but I kinda hope Red Mage is forced from Blackmage and Whitemage but in being able to use the skills such as Fire 1, Aero 1, Stone 1(maybe even 2) to weave in and use alongside as part of their core skills. Maybe have them take a step from crafters and having 10 empty cross-skill slots to basically "build" our Redmage.

Red Mage (Healer)

Weapon/Armor: Lightsaber And Pistol w/ Leather/Light Armor

Unique Gimmick: En-Spell Buffs
Cross Skills Thaumaturge (Swift Cast, Sleep, Aetherial Manipulation, Surecast, Thunder) and Conjuror (Stone Skin, Protect, Cleric Stance, Aero)

Focuses on unique En-Buffs and Debuffs to add utility and survivability to group as well as HoTs and strong heals to keep party alive. Auto Attack with Pistol from a distance and use Saber for "Sword Magic" skills learned via job quests. (Is not a melee fighter)

Samurai (Dps)
Weapon/Armor: Katana and Wakizashi (Like Miyamoto Musashi is said to have used), Light and Scale Armor (Maiming raid gear like DRG)

Unique Gimmick: Bushido

Focuses on fast and powerful attacks , has longer cools downs but uses timing and positionals to deal devastating burst damage. Bushido oGCD Skills learned via job quests can be chained together for combos that leave the opponent with various debuffs at the cost of increased cooldown times.

Cross Skills Lancer (Invigorate, Feint, Blood for Blood, Keen Flurry, Life Surge) and Pugilist (Second Wind, Feather Foot, Internal Release, Mantra)

And no, I do not want to see Great Katanas on Samurai. Especially not if they are going to be DPS. If the Devfs INSIST on making Samurai as DPS class then the least they can do is make them Dual Wield like Musashi. If they want Great Katanas then make them a tank class.

I, personally, hope SAM is a damage job. DRK fills the two-handed sword wielding tank quota. Red Mage will likely be a healer with lots of DoTs and a bit of extra survivability.

Yet that's the least likely role it will fill.

I sincerely hope they destroy 1.0's remnants and just make new jobs. All jobs could have variants of the cross-skills they use now.

Ninja back in 2.4 got a new base class which does not allow other jobs to use cross-skills from. In 3.0 new jobs did not even have a base class. Did SE start to see the limitations the current system gives? I think so.

The only thing I can think of for sticking with how it is now, is to let people have a taste of another class. However, again, I think SE started to see the limits the current system come with, hence 2.4 and 3.0's choices.

They don't want to make SAM a tank, so they'll likely be PGL + LNC for cross-class, assuming they keep the system as is.

Redmage, I wish they would actually let you pick spells from WHM and BLM, based on what you plan to do. Give them buffs from their core skills to increase damage / reduce mana cost / casting time when they flail their sword, so they can weave instant-cast, powerful/free Fire III between melee hits, etc. Essentially, I wish they'd inspire themselves from Enhancement Shaman in WoW.
