You can theoretically find 7 people who want to spend 4 hours doing one turn of CoB in darklight gear. That doesn't mean you actually will.I would say that it does. You can choose to wear lower-iLvl gear (or use the iLvl sync). You can find like-minded people to run with or friends willing to help. You can't give the piston lubricants back their full HP though, nor can you make them cast Mucilage with its original timing.
It is clearly no thing about "relevant or not".
It is, of course, not relvant anymore. but it should still provide some challenge.
It is totally OK to nerf it in someway, and it happens naturally with improved Gear and Echo. Still, most DF Groups will clearly fail at that as well.
You notice it if you run some revitalised non relevant content, like old Coils for Glamour...
People rely on outdpsn and outhealing fights and skipping mechanics. You see that people creating "farmgroups" have no initial idea how the fight works, they just go in ther cause a shiny thing drops they can sell on the market for easy money.
When it´s irrelevant, why even keeping it in the code, why not scratching it entirely, when people claim it is dead content.
Back to A3S - get trough the list, I barely see any difference to Alexander 3 Story. How does it deserve the label Savage anymore.
Never a mind was changed on an internet board, no matter how good your arguments are...
With ilvl 220-240 gear available, they certainly didn't need to nerf it this much. As someone who has only been playing for six months, I looked forward to eventually tackling the insurmountable challenge people kept saying this was. Now it's borderline faceroll-esque. It almost feels like they did this to boost clear numbers because Gordias' percentage were abysmal. But if that were the case, they would have nerfed A4S. Not happy with this decision at all. Just put a 30-50% echo bonus so newer players at least get a choice. I suppose if I'm able to handle Midas (nowhere there yet), then I would have cleared Gordias, but it's still disappointing.

Rest in Peace A3S, one of the best fights ever added to FFXIV gone forever from its glory.

are you people seriously complaining about nerfing old content? you gotta complain about 80% of the game then.
If the quality of a fight depends on how many statics break over it, yeah, I think that's really one of the best fights. Otherwise, uh...
Personally, I'm just rolling my eyes at these comments. If it's going to be "easy" now, surely DF pugs will have little trouble with it, right? Looking forward to see how that plays out. I would not at all be surprised if it still presented an unsurmountable difficulty to the average player and everyone who calls it "easy" is just speaking from a very high horse with the head inside the clouds. But we'll see.
Funny how you're all saying it's "faceroll". Go prove it then. Go run it in DF and deliberately fail a bunch of mechanics and come back with a one shot pull. It's like Coil, even unsynced you can wipe to mechanics if you fail them. Sure the nerfs make it more forgiving and recoverable, but in no way will it be "faceroll".
Old optional content, yes. What? Should we all just nod along and agree with whatever SE does? I'm not saying this is the worst decision ever, but merely expressing my disappointment as a somewhat newer player that the player has been severely reduced.
Faceroll in relative terms. A3S tested how well you could play your job. Sure, duty finder groups will fail, but only because of silly mistakes or flagrantly ignoring mechanics. So what's to prove? I'll do it-- probably fail a bunch of times due to shoddy groups -- and eventually get a clear. But wiping to bad DF groups isn't the same. I wouldn't take as much issue if this weren't optional content. A nerf to Steps of Faith made sense. This is supposedly savage. You don't see Thordan EX getting nerfed.Funny how you're all saying it's "faceroll".
