Because you assume that no one will make comparisons about deeps based on their level of threat. IE "I'm doing 800 deeps and the other guys is only half my threat so he must be doing 400 deeps!" What a slacker I should berate him for it!"

You can make that same comparison with the current threat levels shown in game. If his threat bar is half my threat bar, therefore he must be doing half as much dps as I am. Just because you put numbers in that statement doesn't make the person throwing it in someone else's face any less of a jerk.
There are things like threat managing, also my Egi does about 25%(?) of my dps/threat (without QS in mind). And nobody except me can see my Egis' ammount of threat, because it's not in your group list, it's just in mine. You can make that same comparison with the current threat levels shown in game. Also you seem to forget things like adds or do you look on the threat table for all 14 adds in Seph Ex add phase when they die and add them in mind for every player?![]()
I know about the split for the Egi. But, since I've only play a single job to 60 I was not aware of the other threat reducing mechanics. Does the fact that threat reducing abilities stop an abusive player from trying to kick someone based on their threat output? No it doesn't, I've seen a good bit of a dps trying to kick another due to that player's threat output and reference that to overall damage done. Even if SE would just implement something that was totally personal and not shared I would like that better than no system at all to track my damage done. There are things like threat managing, also my Egi does about 25%(?) of my dps/threat (without QS in mind). "And then I will be called a moron because I didn't notice that they used Elusive Jump to halve their enmity."
Or
"And then I will be called a moron because I didn't notice the BLM use Quelling Strikes before their explosions."
Or
"And then I will be called a moron because I didn't use Quelling Strikes myself and pulled all the enem- now I'm dead."
Aggro is not an indicator of dps, even among dps classes![]()
