    DPS/HPS/TPS Meter

I suggest making in game dps/hps/tps meter that is shared with the party. Would show the standard information damage done per second, % overall damage done in group, healing done per second, actual healing restored per second, % overall healing done in group, threat per second... etc....

    THE CATCH.
Because the meter is built in game, your character's dps/hps/tpswill not be shared with anyone else by default. Have an option to enable having shared information that someone has to turn on. Have it to where while in duty finder, the meter only shows your information and no information is shared with others.

    This would help
    • Those who want to top out their dps have a way to judge how well they are doing solo
    • Those who want to see how well they do compared to others in their static groups
    • Those who want nothing to do with dps stats and who do not want to be judged based on numbers in a table when they go into duty finder

Because you assume that no one will make comparisons about deeps based on their level of threat. IE "I'm doing 800 deeps and the other guys is only half my threat so he must be doing 400 deeps!" What a slacker I should berate him for it!"

You can make that same comparison with the current threat levels shown in game. If his threat bar is half my threat bar, therefore he must be doing half as much dps as I am. Just because you put numbers in that statement doesn't make the person throwing it in someone else's face any less of a jerk.

    I support this idea.

Then why have it if you admit it will be open to abuse? If jerks are going to jerk, why give them more information to use? People become more abusive with more information. With the ability to record concrete numbers, opens the floodgates of selection, separation, and then admonishment. "Well *IM* doing 800 DPS, you can't be doing more than 400, so you are bad." Will occur far more often than "Well, IM doing DPS and you are generating half my threat, you are bad" because a good portion of putting someone else down is attempting to show off yourself. And that is awfully hard when you don't know for sure.

If you want to work on rotations and such, perhaps you should ask for a dummy that, when it dies, gives you details on how quick it died taking so much dmg or w/e But having access to them any other time will result in the mechanics being a vector to abuse others.

The system is already open to the same level of abuse. People will attempt kick based on damage done. If you see someone pulling half your threat and you are abusive you will bring that up no matter if you have numbers or not, because that happens today. Let me just gut your comment, "Well *IM* doing high threat, you can't be doing more than half of me based on the treat you are putting out, so you are bad." This is no different than what you said just without numbers.

I like to compete against my friends and family that play a game with me. I also like to squeeze out every single bit of damage/healing I can because I like to try to be the best I can be at something. I feel as do most of my friends, we push each other to do better in this fashion and as such get better in the game we play together.

A dummy is not a boss fight. Movement and reaction time to events and abilities are not shown at a dummy. All of it matters when completing against my friends.

By your thinking it would almost seem better to disable the chat feature in duty finder so no one can use the current system in place to be abusive.

This is 100% on point. What he is suggesting cannot be proven to increase the rate of abuse what so ever. I would argue that by allowing people to see their own damage output, they would get better and overall dps discrepancies would be lower.

Those wishing not to use or partake in the meters could decline effectively making it EXACTLY the same as it is now.

"And then I will be called a moron because I didn't notice that they used Elusive Jump to halve their enmity."

    Or
"And then I will be called a moron because I didn't use Quelling Strikes myself and pulled all the enem- now I'm dead."

Aggro is not an indicator of dps, even among dps classes

I understand having a DPS meter but what is the point of a HPS or even a TPS?

I love the official forums, they tell you to use the search for thread about what you wanted to talk but when you use it they judge for necro a thread.

There are things like threat managing, also my Egi does about 25%(?) of my dps/threat (without QS in mind). And nobody except me can see my Egis' ammount of threat, because it's not in your group list, it's just in mine.
Also you seem to forget things like adds or do you look on the threat table for all 14 adds in Seph Ex add phase when they die and add them in mind for every player?
