Next pull is goiNext pull, Established enmity, things are looking good! Splat. "Sorry about that, my timing was a little off". Hey, no biggie, I just wiped my party on my previous dungeon (Dzemael Darkhold first time. We had no problem with any of the bosses, but those damned frogs...), so I'm not too salty about it. We rez and get back into it.

Those damn frogs! i was running DD as WHM lastnight everything was going great......till those frogs ive got a 60 War so i wasn't too upset when they linked and we went down faster than maclamore at a goodwill.......but hey it happens.

I only have one horror story really for War and it was a WHM in fractal that healed the entire dungeon in clerics stance......talk about cure bombing and poppin more cool downs than Ke$ha pops pills.....

Thordan Story Mode. I get a PLD tank (I was on WAR to help a fiend).
All hail, Deliverance.
No one pulls.
My friend asks me to MT. I ask why. In the meantime someone pulls.
The PLD can't hold aggro.
I sigh, Provoke, Defiance for 30% of Thordan's HP, then get enough lead to Deliverance, no biggie.
Except I look at the PLD after the kill and he had lvl 57 gear and i200 accessories.
Honestly, there should be a gear check on lvl 60 stuff (I've had a drk with a baldur sword -i160- in Ravana cause everything else he wore was i200...).

Sometimes, I agree >.< Or at least "lvl59" gearcheck unless it's 3.1+ duties, because face it, sometimes you have bad luck with drops and haven't had time to earn enough to buy tomestone gear. Unfortunately, neither would help with the i160 sword, since that... is level 60 gear ^^;

One thing I'd wish that they'd bring up in the Hall of the Novice tutorials is the importance of tank weapon, and at least mention that it's a tank's greatest asset when it comes to holding an enemy's attention. But I guess that's what they figure the Mentor system will help out with ^^;

Finding another healer is a perfectly valid way of dealing with it.

Alright, so I did my 50 roll in the morning. Got Wanderers HM. Had a Whm, Blm, and drg ... and I wanted to murder the lot of them. The main problem was the healer. For some bizarre reason, they seemed to be having trouble keeping up with the group (physically) and was acting like a general asshat.

The first signs of trouble are in the second pull. I get everything up to the locked gate, turned around, and the healer is missing. I don't see how this can be, because they were literally right next to me during the first pull (well within range of every single AoE). Yet, somewhere between the first locked gate and the second one, the healer just up and disappeared on us. It was weird, but I managed to pop a Stone Skin to buy the healer time to catch up. He/She does some healing. I survive. We move on.

We get to the first boss. Everyone on the team is on my butt, so I pull. I position the boss, and notice my hp start to drop. Damage is light, so it's not a big deal. I just assume the healer is dps'ing ... only the spears aren't dying, because the dps is ignoring them. Frustrating, but with my additional Dps we manage to clear them out. I check my Hp bar ... and it is at 25%. I'm not seeing any stones being thrown around, so I find this weird. I pop a sentinel and convalescence to give the healer a boost, but I don't receive a single heal. I'm now under 1000 hp. I throw up a stone skin to put off the inevitable, and I'm about to ask the healer what in the flying F*ck they are doing, when I notice that they're not even in the arena. The stopped right outside the door, and did not come in with the rest of us.

The Dps are not nearly good enough to kill the boss before I die, so we wipe. I ask the healer why they got locked out. I got no response. For the remainder of the dungeon, the healer is still, periodically, stopping in random spots and leaving the team high and dry. I have to look over my shoulder before every pull just to make sure they're still with the group, because the healer might be off picking their nose or chasing butterfly's or some such. Even when they are with the team, they're not really doing their job. On several occasions the healer would simply run in circles around me (I wish I was F*cking joking here) instead of healing or even dps'ing. To make matters worse, the dps are actively ignoring every single boss mechanic in the dungeon.

40, painful, minutes later, we clear the final boss room, in which both adds were ignored for far too long, and all of the idols were killed by me, not the dps. I couldn't get out of there fast enough.

Correct me if I am wrong, but can you even get a weapon better than possibly i150 until after Thordan anyways without wasting your time doing roulettes for tomes? It'd be kinda silly to force that before the final 3.0 story.

Oh, I suppose by now you can do some hunts to get the i170 former law tome gear, but that is still pretty ridiculous.

I'm fairly sure he was talking about Ravana Ex ^^; Which has an ilvl requirement. The tank he was talking about just got past the ilvl requirement by upgrading everything but the weapon. Unfortunately, the weapon... is kinda important to upgrade as a tank ^^; And if he'd spent all that time upgrading all his gear to i200, that means he HAD been running roulettes for tomes for quite a while. (Or it wasn't his main job, and he'd gotten all the tank loot from VA, but there's still the accessories to buy, so...)

I was responding to that. If he only meant the Extreme Trials, then I get the comment in a sense, but still...

Ah yeah. For Thordan Story Mode, I was pretty much in 57 gear as well. Oh wait, I had the HQ lvl58 gear I got from the quests. But yeah, to this day, I haven't seen a single tank piece (apart from trinkets) drop in the Library >.< Oh! except for one time. When I was healing. Story of my life right there. It's the same with the Arboretum/PharosHM. Only seen tank gear drop when I heal -- and the tank either Needs on it, or I lose the Greed roll >.<

For that matter, I still don't have the i80 tank head piece from the Labyrinth of the Ancients. I lost count of how many times I ran it, back when people still did due to the weekly, just to get that one piece of the gear set.
