    I have no issues with gender locked gear, SE can make different versions, There is an Expeditioner set, Male and Female version.

    Yes. And the female version contains one more set piece than the male version. For some reason, the female version has gloves, and the male version does not. The easiest thing to do there would have been to make the gloves unisex, really.
