Oh god that s so awesome. Now i know what i ll be doing this weekend.
Thank you very much.
^ No? Broil is 170, Stone III is 210, Malefic II is 200.
Bio II + Miasma + Bio + Aero = 135 dot potency.
Aero II + Aero III = 90 dot potency.
Combust + Combust II = 85 dot potency.
So what SCH gets in dots, it loses in its main damage spell.
Energy Drain is 150 x3 / 60s = 450/60 = 7.5
Fluid Aura is 150 / 30s = 150/30 = 5
Assize is 300 / 90s = 300/90 = 3.33
WHM together then is ~8.33.
That makes WHM and SCH pretty equivalent, but WHM clearly pulls ahead when you realize how much more often WHM is throwing out Stone III compared to SCH casting Broil. 2 dots to manage, not 4. Same goes for AST, though AST lacks off-gcd attacks, so it falls a bit behind at this point...
However, couple all of that with WHM having Presence of Mind and AST in a solo fight having access to 1 card every 30s, and always leading with enhanced or extended Balance, and you're left with a pretty clear picture of why WHM and AST are stronger single-target solo dps than SCH is.
It's not about duration, it's about raw single-target potential.

^ this is also a super pretty google docs sheet with all of the dps/hp amounts.
It also has a dps calculator built in that's a lot prettier than the one linked above.

About tanks and their new stats calculation: i changed some accessories yesterday and managed to kill the A4S dummy with 20s left now. Did only one try. That s 931 dps with an ilvl of 207.
-> changed the i210 Eso necklace of fending for the new crafted 220 + STR V mat.
-> changed the i210 Eso ring of fending for a i230 one +STR V mat.
-> changed the i200 Eso ring for my old i150 ring of fending i penta-meld before the patch . This one reduces the ilvl a lot but still increases your attack power until you get something meldable >i220 (it has 31 VIT and 29 ST so it's 31x0.45 + 29x0.45 AP).
The gain in terms of HP is not material. Ill keep that setup for Midas progression.
The SSS dummies are awesome challenges if what you're looking for is having fun. The Dummy for AS4 was a joke in my 210 PLD, but when I purposefully equipped worse gear to get down to 200 I barely cleared it with 1 or 2 seconds left. I was able to clear AS4 on SMN on my second try, but dude, SCHOLAR. Doing the AS4 dummy on an IL 201 Scholar was like the hardest thing ever, specially because the content doesn't really teach you how to optimize healer damage. Having to know how and when to take advantage of Dissipation, taking auto-attacks into account and micromanaging the hell out of DoT placement so that they would all reach the end of the timer and still give out their total potency was bananas. I beat it after like 8 tries, with probably less than one second left.
These things are so fun :'D
cause the dummy dose not move and has zero mechanics like aoes to dodge I say go without food, pots and buffs.I would also like to point out - if you're still struggling with the dummies (like if you're failing A4S at 1% like I was for a while yesterday) I find that food and potions help. I realize that these aren't exactly limitless, however, and as such people might not want to resort to that for a simple striking dummy, but it's something to consider.
Because in a real fight you would use them to buff your dps to be no food pot buffs equivelent dummy in theory because you will have to dodge aoes and do mechanics and all.

Thats why the dps required to kill the dummy is higher than the dps needed to kill the boss. They took that into consideration.
If you look at a typical A4S clear party on FFlogs each member has much less dps than their respective dummy would need.
It is different fight conditions and the dummy is only a gear and rotation check. Hence it has higher requirements in terms of raw damage.
Given that anyways in raid situation you will have food and potions why not include them in the dummy fight. At least it will help peope figure out how important they are.
More importantly the dev team did not build the training dummy's with Pot/Food usage in mind. Most likely due to how much a Pot will inflate DPS in a short 3 minute session.cause the dummy dose not move and has zero mechanics like aoes to dodge I say go without food, pots and buffs.

A4S Sky is incredibly conservative for i210.
It would be nice to have a recommended gear level listed for the trials.
I would like to know a bit more about how they came to these numbers. I can remember the number 600 floating around for BEX for the dps to clear the check at the time. The DRGs dummy for BEX is just over 1200 this required. Yet the values needed for the A8S one by the dummy are 1800, which seems much closer to what the actual should be.Thats why the dps required to kill the dummy is higher than the dps needed to kill the boss. They took that into consideration.

Also, thw WHM A8S dummy suggests the WHM should be pulling 1200, which I don't see happening. But the healer ones could just be filler.
Aside from a work around parser, I'm not really seeing too much point in these. The fight is about upkeeping dps while doing mechanics, not jut upkeeping dps. While they can't give away too many mechs, and a lot dont work with only one player. It would be nice to see a couple AOEs thrown in that stun if you don't avoid, or something.
Was going to check when I got home, but does anyone know if the defense of the statues changes based on which instance you pick?

Cleared Thordan EX with my WHM pretty easily, but can't get the last 7 - 8% on my i200 NIN. I can comfortably clear Gordias and have about 12 seconds left, though.
