So here is my short term 3 star advice. Below is a picture showing a slightly modified version of my rotation. NOTE that inner quiet was moved out of the FS cycle and you would no longer ToT during FS. This is not ideal, but this allows you to safely miss four FS at 888 craftsmanship (with HQ onion soup). At approximately 920 craftsmanship you should be able to miss five FS.

Without the removal of Inner quiet and ToT from the FS, my method simply can't miss enough FS safely. This unfortunately puts a damper on the rotation as an extra ToT is lovely and a big deal (and part of doing MaMa in the first place). But functionally the below works. If you have max CP you can squeeze out an extra 18 CP for a precise touch or Innovate.

Kat's - MaMa Careful Synth (3 Star) - Required stats 888 Craftsman and 449 CP (Character base stats 860 Craftsman, 401 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

In the longer term I'm looking seriously at what the best option. As mentioned elsewhere I suspect Rath's with a minor modification to the last SH to save 3 CP will be ideal. Simply put as difficulty goes up Ingenuity's efficiency goes down. And as required progress increases, the efficiency of Piece by Piece goes up. Consequently for a LONG time I suspected when 3 or 4 star came out, some modified version of Rath's rotation would come out on top regardless. I think with the base 850 craftsmanship you can miss 4 FS. Likewise you can pull out TWO 18 point options (precise/basic/innovate) if you have max CP and REMEMBER to use SHI (NOT II) on the last sequence.

MaMa PbP (3 Star) - Required stats 878 Craftsman and 434-470 CP (Character base stats 850 Craftsman, 386 CP and HQ Baked Onion Soup):

Thank you for this and for sharing all your work. But there is a small apparent inconsistency here: the text says "requires 878 Craftsman" but the image shows 861. Is this because the simulator doesn't have 3-star recipes and progress in it yet so you are manually compensating by simulating with scaled-down Craftsmanship?

    Thanks again.

Thanks Silverbane! Your insight is spot on as always. As you guessed the simulator doesn't have 3 star and I was just tinkering with the numbers so I didn't overshoot the recipie. I cut out that portion of the picture to avoid confusion ;-)

I've tested both rotations ingame on three star items using a multitude of recipes and orders from people. HQing end goods with both approaches still work. But the slightly modified Rath's rotation pulls ahead notably (since you can still ToT at least once during the FS cycle). Likewise at MAX CP with the minor SH adjustment you can fit in the second free 18 point action. Giving you on average three extra 18 point actions (I usually shoot for 2 precise touches and 1 Innovation).

The net is that the MaMa PbP (3 Star) rotation makes it feel like you're still just doing two star work. You lose the benefit of Ingenuity II on Byregots (which is annoying given the quality increase) but none the less the extra hasty touch USUALLY makes up for this change and having a potential two extra 18 point actions causes the MaMa PbP to pull ahead of the modified MaMa Careful synth rotation in regards to three star work.

Raths rotation always annoyed me because it felt less solid.

I'll give this one a try, so at max cp do you start with two free 18cp stacks with this? Or 1?

Sorry I read it again it's 2. Do you suggest innovation over securing a stack with standard touch now that we loose ingenuity?

I honestly love ingenuity too much to want to drop it all together like this..

I also loved my MaMa Carefulsynth for two star over Rath's approach because of the additional "wiggle" in the progress. You have to be more aware of not falling short or early completion with Rath's. With this said this also meant you can sometimes squeeze out two extra ToTs during the FS cycle in Rath's approach (and this is very common in three star crafting).

As for your questions I generally approach as follows with the modified Rath's rotation at max CP. I push to get two ToTs during the FS cycle. I keep in mind this sometimes leaves me short progress and make sure to do one extra careful synth when needed. During the rotation I push for 1 or two precise touches. So by the end of the rotation I typically have two 18 CP actions. If I ToTed twice I also have 4 extra CP (which I use to convert the final SH to SHII). So my final sequence is usually SHII, Hasty, Ingenuity, Basic Touch, Greater Strides, Byregot's. I do this if I have 8 or more stacks OR 6 or less stacks going into the final rotation. If I have 8 or more I'm going to max out if I miss the last hasty or not and I'm fairly certain I get somewhat more quality using the innovate on the last two actions. If I have 7 stacks two basic touches is generally better as I believe 9 stacks+ is the ideal breakpoint usually (unless you have 0 starting quality). If for some terrible reason I have 6 or less stacks, that innovation is much needed to squeeze out as much quality as possible.

Now one thing I glossed over in one of my top posts which I'll point out in the video I'm going to post when using my MaMa Carefulsynth old unmodified rotation in three star, at approximately 920 craftsmanship you should be able to miss four FS. This is like the lowest comfort point for running my rotation safely most of the time while grabbing one ToT. With current gearing and food though 920 craftsmanship is rather expensive to meld and reach, but it is possible and worth noting. If you wanted to continue to use my rotation in three star that would be the way to do it. Mind you I still think my modified max CP Rath's rotation would be ahead of mine (at 920 craftsmanship). Because the longer FS cycle really pushes to allow two ToTs at the start. And you have two built in 18 CP options already (for an average of four 18 CP options during the synth). This is super powerful.

It occurred to me at max CP with the modified rath's rotation even if you ignored all ToTs and goods you would have 9 hasty actions and two touches (at 90% with SH I). Which with an average of ~2000 starting quality would likely result in a 90% success rate. So I macroed the modified rotation and tried it on intermediate materials. And sure enough that's the net. You'll HQ approximately 9/10 of the three star materials. That tells you just how efficient the modified Rath's rotation is at Max CP. And why having as much CP as possible is lovely.

The Link below is for the rotation I been using for 3* (Note: I don't know if anyone has post it/been using it so not trying to take any credit)
Feel free to critic, modify/improve it, make a guide if you find it helpful.
(I was using Kat's rotation before this)

Two attempts: 1 a normal scenario, 2 a PbP failure and purposely NOT taking any ToT
