I mean they can't go infinitely like WAR can, but whatevs, I'll take it.
WAR will still be a guaranteed spot in every single raid group and PLD/DRK still isn't anywhere near as viable, just judging from the changes so far. I feel like more could have been done, but I guess I'll just have to wait and see.
The problem is that PLD and DRK compete with each other, while WAR complements both.
Barring any class destroying nerfs, WAR is pretty much set for the rest of 3.x (similar to BRD in 2.x, although not as much).
If Grit is still on the GCD and costs MP, simply not interrupting combos is barely considered a buff in my eyes. The only time when I felt like I wished the combos were not interrupted was when I turned on Grit for A1S tank buster.
I personally don't find the MP cost as bad as the GCD. At least in the case of the MP cost we are dealing with resource management. However, with the GCD, it's almost always a loss regardless of how you manage it for yourself.
From a general change PoV, assuming that VIT will be weaker that 3.15 STR, I can see us being forced into Grit a lot more to compensate. I was expecting that change but was also expecting some WAR-like stance-dancing. Maybe it is intended to have DRKs stay fully on Grit on head-on tanking for both aggro and mitigation given that the content won't be aggression focused.
Have to see, but I cannot help being a bit disappointed due to the fact that PLD/DRK stances will most likely stay on the GCD. :/
Putting Grit/ShO of the gcd without any other changes would just be to strong. There needs to be a oportunity cost associated with switching stances.

I don't main tank by any means, but I do play WAR and will be 60 DRK very soon, and I'm still excited about these changes.
But... Goring Blade was already plenty powerful?...
Guess we're still supposed to use RoH only for debuff on emergencies.
...PLD under worse TP constraints than DRK = give DRK NIN/MNK TP costs on their edgy combos. Left PLD with just the combo opener change.
also: Monk needed more dps? AST PvP death. RIP Paeon. Should I Ballad my SMN for more dps? NIN already under worse dummy-fight TP constraints than MNK = reduce its TP costs, leave MNK at higher TP costs than DRK.
tldr; do they actively dislike enmity combos? And this change hardly makes Grit or especially Oaths seem less clunky.

(super serious)I don't know what to put here so I've put this here as a placeholder until I figure it out.(super serious)
Recruitment code if you are starting out: FTB8JBQ5
Skillset is only 2 10th's of the battle. Remember how in 2.2/2.4 blm's got trounced because smn, although they had slightly worse single target damage, were much better suited to the raids due to movement being much better on smn.I mean they can't go infinitely like WAR can, but whatevs, I'll take it.
