I'd rather have convenience than immersion personally.
Part of the fun of games for me is avoiding things I have to put up with in real life like long travel times.
I enjoy the scenery of Eorzea and there are lots of areas I'll just go walk around in when the mood strikes me such as The Burning Wall in Eastern Thanalan. However I would never want to lose the option to warp directly to my destination when I just want to get things done.
Complete opposite for me. I remember shouting in Mor Dhona, Coerthas, and East Thanalan for Chimera and Hydra parties back before Party Finder was introduced and being annoyed by how long it was taking to get a group together. I'd personally prefer it if everything was in DF as soon as it's added to the game.Oh, don't get me wrong. I hate the Duty Finder. I almost didn't switch over to this game from FFXI when I found out they were adding it during the Beta. But of the two, I think we'd be more likely to see, say, the 4.0 areas have fewer Aetherytes than we would be for the amount of content in the DF to ever be scaled back.
I actually rather like content that doesn't let us use it (like the original Chimera and Hydra fights, as well as the current raid tier for a given patch cycle), and I'd like to see more of it, but the addition of Chimera and Hydra to the DF (and Roulettes, in general), suggests that won't ever really happen.
Granted stuff like Savage Alexander would likely never be cleared in DF but I'd like to have the option be there.

I'll take convenience over immersion any day; and technically Aetherytes are still immersive since they fit the lore. If you don't like the concept of porting then simply don't use the teleports.
SE, please give us more Aetherytes, specifically in Whitebrim... god how I hate that run every time I have to make it...
I know all that now, it was more of a derp realization that just maybe, she might be also teleporting - like I did literally seconds before having that thought and still not being able to put 2 + 2 together.
We can discuss immersion for hours as it is completely subjective.
If you think teleport kills immersion - don't use it. If you are fine with it - use it.
Just because you want to be immersed more, or have it more 'hardcore' it doesn't mean other players should be stripped off of things they find USEFUL.
It can have its up-sides, and down-sides, as all the things do.. But in the end, I think some would vote for even more points to port to.
Holy "Final Solution" Batman o.O Not a fan of Lala's myself(more not a fan of certain people who play Lalas; running around pretending they're super cute but reality sets in and you're a bag o' milk with a head. Get over it), but this might be too extreme xD
Cats are a meme, ergo miqotes are a meme race.
I enjoy Teleports. I just wish there was a little more lore on it. It's convenient without being 100% convenient. Questing through Coerthas back in ARR, you'd have killed for one or two more Aetherytes in that zone, not to mention the lack of one outside the Waking Sands back then.
There is a crap ton of lore about why the Aetheryte system exists. After the calamity caused by Bahamut, there was a large amount of residual Aether dispersed....you know what? Just read more.I enjoy Teleports. I just wish there was a little more lore on it. It's convenient without being 100% convenient.
