It's very simple, some items I like and would enjoy to have however that does not mean I want EVERYTHING added to it. An item or two here or there is fine and I can understand but when we start claiming we just want everything thrown into the cash shop then we are going overboard. If it gets to the point where we start having class specific glamours in the station I can probably see me cutting ties with it all together. The main point I try to get across is we all pay a monthly fee and should see more of these items in-game, not thrown in the shop with a real price tag on top of what we already pay but yet people keep asking to pay more. Maybe just me, but there is a big difference to them adding random things that no one asked for versus basically trying to bribe them to add more.

The rest of your post is pointless you continue to argue that we as consumers are supposed to give to the developers because the investors want it that way? I say Bah!

Rolling over like that is what got the industry in this mess in the first place, unless people stand up to these ridiculous practices the investors will keep pushing developers further and further with this nonsense. Look at the insane stuff they are trying with pre-release and elusive pre-release content and pre-order bonuses, thankfully many of those have blown up in their faces. But every one that gets through because "Why not" gives them the next opening to start cutting more and more and more and more content.

Want a FFVII remake? Good buy it in chunks instead of a full game, I guarantee you the final product with be a smaller game for more money with little innovation.

just because you want to roll over and "Just accept it" I'll stick to my morals and protest the cash shop my only lament is that others let themselves be walked allover and just accept this stuff even when they know it's not in their best interest as a consumer to let this happen. I enjoy FFXIV as a product more than my distaste for the cash shop so it continues to receive my subscription but the moment that I feel my subscription is being undervalued and the cash shop is taking more precedent they will have to hinge on those items to fill the void I leave.

The Developers are not to blame that may be true, but that does not give me any reason to give them any leeway because of it. You misconstrued my words.

When I say that every items is lost confidence I mean that of the investors. You know the people who count when it comes to this sort of stuff. Every time they decide that instead of adding new mounts like Odin, or the Magiteck mounts, or the emotes, or the previous years event rewards, or minions, or....the list goes on.

Every time they do that it shows that the investors have little interest in the game for the long term and it speaks volumes for the future of the game when the investors are more concerned about nickle and dimming the consumers as much as possible a fast as possible instead of being vested in a long term subscription.

I don't know if i understand you right, but during 1.x the event ventors didn't sell items from previous events

No investors. Just stockholders who are only interested about SE's total profit and the top chiefs in SE HQ who decide which project get what budget

I hope the final will be 5 blue-rays big (3 blue-rays minimum) if they really put everything from the original in it (not only the storyline, but also all the mini-games in top graphic).
And little innovation is good. It would be bad if it change too much from the original (some people have already problems about the more dynamic and less static battle system in the trailer).

How did this turn into a cash shop thread when the point of the OP was clearly requesting Kain Highwind's armor for DRGs (specifically the 012 rendition based off the original ffiv gear...nice!)?

    Aside about cash shops:

I don't understand automatically asking for something to be put in the cash shop when they haven't even decided to develop it yet. You should ask for it to be included in-game up front. Why settle for paying more for something when you don't have to?

I don't mind having it, presuming it stays cosmetic. I would even avail myself of it if I knew all of it was going back into FFXIV. I don't, and SE has lots of other things going for it right now: VII 2.0, XV, [strike]Half life[/strike] Kingdom Hearts III, Dissidia 2.0, manga even. So personally I don't use it. I would invite everyone who doesn't like the cash shop to do the same. If they start selling real content, like for example housing, through the cash shop, I will be the first to riot.

On topic: The DRG AF is almost always modeled on this concept: skin-tight scale armor with dragon/wing motifs. I doubt it will ever be exact, but I can assure you that Kain will influence all of the DRG AF gear for pretty much ever. As an aside, did you guys like the SMN AF2 gear based of Rydia? I have heard people either love it or hate it, haha.

TOTALLY OFF-TOPIC, but since you brought it up....

I raise my eyebrows at the episodic release because I feel as if it's an obvious cash grab. However, if each installment is good quality and entertaining enough to stand alone, I will think of it more as it's own franchise continuing a single story. Like...tomb raider? A single (albeit loosely) related story with retained characters that spans multiple installments. People are just a little skeptical because that's unusual for FF and they've already released lots of expansions on VII: It's like their sugar daddy.

I have no problem with them innovating. If it was exactly like the original in every way with improved graphics, voice overs, and three-demensional maps, then it's a very, very good remaster, not a remake. The plot needs to stay the same. Honestly, I expect them to expand on it given how long it's going to be, and it looks like they are: SE said explicitly that part one gives Biggs, Wedge and Jessie more personality and depth (yay, cue the waterworks when they...erm...well). I don't mind them fleshing out things that were implied in the original. Kinda like the Hobbit movies: I liked the "necromacer" stuff they added; it was in the book as an implication. However that dwarfxelf love triangle thing was NOT okay with me. Similarly, if they added stuff outta the blue that wasn't there to FFVII in the remake I'll be upset.

...am I the only one who really DIDN'T like the gameplay in the original FFVII? I played for the plot and the characters but I had absolutely no desire to complete the extra stuff like I do in other titles because the combat system was repetitive and boring, and the exponential exp required for each level made the last 40 levels an unbearable grind-fest. Materia needed to be micro-managed constantly and weapons needed upgrades which would mess up your materia ever time. The time spent in the menu was a prohibitive bog. If they make combat more active then I wouldn't mind the down-time so much. Hopefully the restructure materia and weapons so it's not AS clunky.

If it played like...dissidia or kingdom hearts...no, i'd still be completely down for that.
