It's not for the rotation
it's for when you have to move and you can't do a normal attack. Obviously not longer than 2-3 GCDs, at that point just turn off the Barrel and do your rotation.

Clearly, the best Final Fantasy character is Locke Cole.

One ilm punch. Haymaker.
Haymaker is all fine for solo but you wont catch it during raid.

Oh hello, Repose.
Only time I ever used One-Ilm Punch was during those ixal fates in Coerthas that cast Stoneskin on their massive HP pool. One Ilm Punch (outside of PvP) is all but entirely worthless. It's up against two very good skills for that section of the combo, costs a ton of TP, does squat for damage, and almost nothing worthwhile can actually be punched off. The last boss I can recall it working on was the final boss of Haukke Manor (Hard)'s stoneskin effect. I mean, it works on the Attack Up from Whistle on those Dhalmel enemies in Neverreap too... for... what that's worth... which isn't anything.
In PvP it's great, but it could have just been a PvP-only skill.

Shukuchi easily. I actually had to look it's name up before posting because I had actually completely forgotten it. And the worst part is it seems like it could be a cool skill to use but it's just pointless.

Haymaker is so useless once you get out of the baby levels, I don't even bother keeping it on my hotbar. One Ilm Punch isn't much better. I also rarely touch Fist of Earth or Wind, but they at least have some use.

Haymaker 100% useless skill. The only skill I don't have on my bar . I at least use one ilm punch in PvP or on monsters that use stoneskin sometimes, but mostly its crap too.

I never ever using Dissipation (except pvp) even in thordan. Like, why sacrifice auto-regen by draining mp for bigger galvanize and aetherflow (and swiftcast too)?
It's a gap closer. You use it for when you need to move (like in raids) or after a knockback (like in raids) or when you need to quickly get to a target far from you that's also moving (like in raids). It's okay to have skills that require high level play to use.
