It was my understanding that it's going to continue getting more powerful past level 110, though. Like I said, I don't follow WoW too closely, so I could be wrong about that.

It'll most likely get increases in statistical power through items and more customization points as you down content. Though the concept being it is still different than the approach of a relic, where the latter is another means to the highest Ilvl weapon, while the former is a layer of customization and a tool that you use for the leveling process and onward. I wouldn't compare wow legendary/artifact to Ffxiv artifacts because they both have different results and most likely the intended purpose of it when you actually finish it

Yeah it's totally not fair to compare WoW and FF14's legendary weapons/gear to each other. Or even their differences in gear at all for that matter.

I disagree with you and Rice. While different, I find the weapon as proposed fulfills the same niche as the relic (for me at least). The Artifact weapons are one of the most drawing reasons that I've pre-purchased Legion, and the relic disappointment is one of the biggest reasons that I only log on to FFXIV for raid nights now.

Yes, they're somewhat different implementations of the same general idea: a weapon that is legendary in some way or another which grows in power through the completion various tasks.
