Yes, and I have heard that the PS3 have some problems with the HW maps. Just imagine it with much bigger maps.PS3 has 256MB of System RAM, and 256 MB of Graphics memory, total is 512MB. Some of the 256MB system memory is used by the memory resident portion of the OS reducing the 256 a bit. Also, everything you just said was said about PS3 prior to HW, and yet we got the bigger zones and flight. So...whatever.
I've seen more than a few complaints on this very forum that the HW zones are too big and empty already, why would you want bigger zones? The point though was that the PS3 did not hinder having larger zones, did it? Nor did it prevent flight. PS3 has held virtually nothing back from the game, and yet at the same time has allowed many more players to join the game. The presumption that everyone moved to PS4 already is false also. In Japan, Sony's home market, they've sold about 2 million PS4s, a fraction of the PS3 numbers. So you can bet that in SE's home market, PS3 will be well represented among players. Unless that changes or something literally can't be implemented on PS3, I don't think it's in SE's interests to drop PS3 support.
i actually play on a mid ranged PC. and why it does suffer too its not as bad as the PS3 in my experience\
the point i am getting at btw is that any problems that the PS3 limitations cause only effect the PS3 and are not holding the rest of the consoles back.
Well it is not holding PS4 back in a way... but holding back the game itself.
SE can do much more if it was just PC and PS4 then holding on and supporting PS3 as well
Maybe because we don't agree with those complaints? Personally I don't think HW's zones are very big, they are about standard for an MMO, from the ones I have played. They are certainly empty, but that is either due to PS3 constraints or developer problems. The idea of huge, densely populated zones is a good one, and one we should be asking for. For crying out loud, we still have zone transitions, instead of being able to move from one zone to another seamlessly (without a loading screen) like pretty much every other MMO out there.I've seen more than a few complaints on this very forum that the HW zones are too big and empty already, why would you want bigger zones? And saying that the PS3 is holding nothing back is patently false. Even the devs have said that the current zones are already pushing what the PS3 can do, and they aren't that big. Why so empty? Maybe because the PS3 can't handle it all. The PS3 has limited the UI, it's barely changed, barely any of the sorely need features have been added, and devs have stated it's because the PS3 lacks the memory to do anything more. And then lets discuss the graphics. We still don't have proper hardware anti-aliasing. We get blurry low res textures, even though we know for a fact they have higher res assets. We get barely get real physics in the world or on character or mounts, low poly count models for characters and armor. Yeah we have flying, but it's literally running in the air: mounts don't dive, turn or bank realistically because this game doesn't use proper physics. That new reflection effect that came with HW? Barely used, and when it is you can tell it's pixelated and very low quality, and you don't get lighting effects reflected properly either, it's static. We still don't have volumetric fog or similar effects like proper rain and thunder, and whatever they use to create the skybox is low res too. It's especially apparent at night, the "milky way" effect looks like a painted on texture. The list just goes on and on.
Now certainly, some of what I mentioned above hasn't been done due to a mix of developer resources, design decisions and the like. But you cannot, with a straight face, tell me that the PS3 isn't the biggest factor in all of it. It limits practically everything a dev could do with this game.

The games features will always need to take the PS3 in mind along with the crappy server structure we seem to have as well. I don't get why people get so defensive. The PC should always come first I'm sorry but it's true. If someone can't afford or doesn't want a PC that's not really my problem, why should my game experience be hindered cause of a console?
The PC should have higher end options for things along with better qol features if said PC can handle it, why is that such a problem?
Because technology advances. I would love to be able to play every game ever made on my PS1 and never have to worry about buying another console but that sadly isn't the way the world works. It is obvious that the game will improve with dropping PS3. It may not improve by a lot but there will be an improvement nonetheless
I believe up to 4.0 is where the PS3 support should end personally. Will I be bothered if it doesnt? Nope.
So now you're saying that all consoles hold the game back? Give me a break. This is just the typical PC master race viewpoint. High-end PC's can cost vastly more than a console. The game runs perfectly fine on a PS4 (and, like SO many people here have mentioned, is playable on the PS3), so why would anyone bother shelling out more money to play this game on a PC?
I don't know the stats, but I'm guessing there's a pretty equal playerbase on console and PC. Heck, my FC is almost all console players, with just a few people playing on PC. Why should a huge population of the game be forgotten just because you think PC is so much better?
