Jerks who can't wait are what lock you out of bosses.

No, it's not. First, because they already adjust UI for PC and PS3 separately. For example, Focusing on a target makes your gils disappear on the PS3, not on PC. When in Duty, you don't see you quests on PS3 (Which is, for me, a very good thing), you do on PC, you can't have the crosshotbar and hotbars at the same time on PS3, you can on PC, you can't separate chatlogs on PS3, you can on PC...
And second...TP numbers don't matter. People always have 1000 TP Max, you only need to see the remaining percentage.

It's not. It's the overused void argument people make to denigrate the PS3 playerbase. And it comes all the way back to FFXI on PS2, where it also was a lame excuse.
In fact, everything that was denied because of "PS2 limitations" eventually made their way to the game...even on PS2. More inventory spaces, more jobs, new animations, grand scale content...everything.

If they really "hold back" the game because of PS3, you wouldn't have large FATEs, large zones and 24-man raids...
The only impact the PS3 has...is on PS3 players. And even there, the game is largely playable even if not optimal.

Besides, the game is also designed to work properly on lower PC. I suppose people will start bitching about those cheap PC players soon...

I've played both the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game (pre-3.0).

The only differences I've noticed is that the load times on the PS4 version are a lot better and the animations are often flashier. That's it. Even if it's not super-pretty, the PS3 version isn't glitchy or unfinished at all.

Same here, well I also experienced some lag so titan was hell for me, but that's it....

The PS3 can hold The Last of Us. It's easy to support ff xiv that have inferior graphics.

Actually it plays just fine. I played on it for a year and a half during beta to 3.0. Only difference was looking distance in big overworld maps (not saying uch because the ps4 cant look forever either, shadow graphics, clothing graphics, jiggle physics was gone, as well as clothing (can't remember bout that one actually, clarify), highly populated places causes frame rate drops (especially when morons spam holy in one place) and that's just about it.

Personally I prefer the ps3 for the controls, it felt alot easier compared to the ps4, not to mention the ps4 is a giant doorstopper with not many games (lot of remastered ones though) to play fitting a next gen system. :/. But yeah, nothing wrong with the ps3 version, there's nothing glitchy or unfinished about it. just lower quality to fit the system.

You can actually reduce those load times and increase the amount which you can see like players/mobs/etc. if you change out the hard drive with an SSD, definitely been helpful.

The truth of the matter is that the PS3 doesn't have the graphics engine capabilities of the PS4 and high end gaming PCs, combined with lag in their internet connections and you can see why people are calling for the PS3 version to be retired. To those players I say one thing: GET A GRIP! This game launched on the PS3 and PC, for many of us, it was the first true console based MMORPG that we'd touched and the fact it was flawless (minor bugs at best, but that's to be expected) warrants that SE should continue to use the PS3 for as long as it can.

I would also like to remind those players that the PS3 is still a current system, there are still new games coming out on it and it still currently has more content on it than the PS4 (without remastered games or these new backwards compatibility entries in the PS Store) so until that stops being the case, chill out. Or, you can take it as a challenge to see just what the PS3 is capable of handling in FFXIV, it will surprise you.

Glitchy? Unfinished? SE's standards may have been dropping in the recent years, but a buggy/glitchy unfinished game has never been an issue here. This isn't Bethesda mate. Falling off maps in FF games are almost non existent. Not sure what game you were playing.

    XIV: ARR released - August 27, 2013
    PS4 released - November 15, 2013

ARR was released 3 months before the PS4, so they released it for the console of the time. You can't release a game for a system that doesn't exist yet and SE waited 5 months to release for the PS4 both to have development time for it as well as to watch adoption rates. We almost had an XBox 360 release, except for the fact that Microsoft wanted a walled garden for its players which SE wouldn't agree to.

Which isn't a real issue since you can tweak the engine to run properly.

And they can improve the graphic options for PC without having any issue with the console version.
    DX11, anyone... ?
