When is the PS3 Version going to get cancelled?

It should be cut off most everyone has a playstation 4 by now.

I have it and a ps3 but no point in playing it on ps3 because its free without psn+ on both consoles best choice would be the better product.
SE already did the transfer thing thats what I did and only ps3 is used for my old games.

SE probably knows more than us though maybe there are still a lot of people playing the ps3 version, its like when ps2 version was for FFXI nobody really wanted to give it up.

This is true. Here's the thing about the anti-PS3, and I'm going to be blunt: It's a very western-centric viewpoint.
SE is a Japanese company with a Japanese mindset and Japan's average populace tends to not invest in new home consoles as readily as the western market does and they keep their console support for longer. As evidence of this, Japan was releasing physical games on the PS2 for years after we stopped in the west - and they were selling. I believe Seekers of Adoulin was actually the last physical PS2 game? A physical release the west never got at all.

When SE feels that the PS3 version is no longer profitable, or worth the cost of keeping updated, due to how many players (or lack thereof) it has, then and only then will they drop it. Exactly the same as FFXI.

That being said, I do understand and agree with the argument for removing PS3 support, but I do not believe that time is now. Or even in the next 6 months.

It will probably be another 4-5 years before I buy a PS4, after all, I only bought the PS3 about a year ago

And while I am severely behind on the console lifespan thing, I also know that many people, even though they might get a new console faster than me, have not moved on to the PS4 yet.
And that's talking about people in the West; as many others have stated already, JP audiences are usually even more reluctant to switch to a new console.

Don't you worry, as soon as PS3 is dropped, it will become "servers limitations" (like the inventory problems right now)

Then it'll be "PCs that suck limitations".

Then PS4 limitations

etc etc.

excuses are just excuses usually, a way to say "It might be possible but the invesments needed can't outweight the eventual benefits, so no".

That's incorrect. The game caters for platforms such as the PS3 and low end PCs taht do not have the graphical oomph to run the game with bells and whistles at even 720p resolution. As such, catering to the PS3 in effects holds the door open to a lot of PC players with less than stellar hardware.

Lol, my fiance played all the way up to A1S on PS3 with no issues outside of piss poor loading times. The only reason the change became necessary is that the PS3 can't handle Alexander very well so it frequently caused crashes.

HD textures is pretty much the last thing I'd care about, and I have a PC who could run everything on max settings perfectly. And while you are right that often it is just what players ASSUME to be the reason, there have been several instances where SE said "we can't do that because the PS3 wouldn't be able to handle it", which is probably the reason why now so many people jump to that as the standard reason, since they heard it so often before.

But, like Kuwagami said, even if the PS3 support was dropped, low-grade PCs would still be supported, one day the PS4 will be considered old, and so on. We just can't have nice things, can we?

Well, we can, but it more depends on the game architecture. Almost every discussion about requests that SE can/cant do ends up coming down to the memory budget. Immediately everyone assumes that the limited memory on the PS3 is therefore the problem. However more often than not the memory budget is referencing how much data encompasses a character and therefore how much has to be written back to the DB every 15 seconds.
