Once in a great while, the forums actually (unanimously) agrees on something questionable done by the company.

Not a problem, I was responding to those implying (edit) you paid for the furnishing, which isn't the case, as soon as they say "bonus".
It seems nit picky, but it is an important distinction.
Clarification:
Implying the thing paid for was the "furnishing", continues then to imply you are being ripped off.
As a request/demand for change, it will never gain traction in that context. You can't argue you paid for a product when that wasn't the product being sold to begin with, that makes no sense either.

When it got destroyed by leaving the FC or any other way, you will not lose it because the NPC with all "special items" will have it.
I am not sure if it is the same in this case but i am pretty sure they will do it that way...
Edit: It would be great if a DEV can tell us what will happen if it gets destroyed.

But it does make sense to point out that it's a crummy add-on given the limitations in the hopes that they will fix that and in the future make more of an effort with add-on bonus codes.
I'm going to put on my prognosticator's hat and say that this particular item isn't going to meet the sales forecasts set for it.
Yeah, right now all we know is that it will be destroyed. No mention of them throwing it on the calamity salvager (perfectly acceptable fix from my point of view).
Insanity is a gradual process, don't rush it - Ford Prefect
Just quoting what I said in the other thread about it, because they might have missed it last time and can't have them not counting one more person who wants this garbage break on removal thing gone on ALL furniture.
Oh, look, the totally amazing and not pointless and stupid removal thing on certain furnishings is now on an actual paid piece of furniture, how cool.
/clap
Psst, that's sarcasm. Hey, SE, can you remove this stupid and utterly pointless "feature" on furnishings please? Would be awfully kind, sane and reasonable of you.
I understand in game items that can be obtained again and again being destroyed on removal ( most of them are super easy to get now with undersize and chest drops )... but this is some f'd up shit. 30 bucks and it's destroyed on removal? Seriously SE?! I don't have enough angry words to convey how ridiculously greedy this is. Yes I get you're trying to make money but that is going to sell out anyway, the plushies always do... so as it is the lamp will be a super RARE trophy but then to punish people who move or lose their house?
The Dev teams needs to seriously reconsider this.
The more stuff like this they do the more they lose my focus as my go to recreation game... which makes me sad. I love this game.. but stuff like this is incredibly disheartening.
Also.. I would never buy this item but I honestly don't think those who would should be punished for moving.
Wow.. just wow...
Edit: Also I would love to see the community rep response please. Please give us a reason why you're /suddenly/ punishing players who support you by buying things outside the game? You should be rewarding them for buying merchandise....
I took no issue with the vanity Cash Shop but this is a huge step in the wrong direction. Stuff like this leads me to believe we'll soon be seeing "time limit" costumes and consumables ( Buy a costume but it only lasts a month, i'm sure other F2P MMO players know what I mean ).
This needs to be addressed.

I suppose having it break upon removal could be an anti-theft technique. So that if you put the lamp in your FC, someone cant remove it, take it for themselves, and use it in their own home/room/ leave the FC with your $30 lamp.
I think it's fine having the "break upon removal" in this case. So long as they even it out by making it available through the calamity salvager when you redeem the code.
Yes, that is fine. I was never disputing that.
As Yukiko mentioned though, I'm sure as far as getting kicked out of FC is concerned, it will be put on that NPC.

But then the person who bought still loses it, while the person who stole it get's no punishment...I suppose having it break upon removal could be an anti-theft technique.
