Can we get a community rep response on this? I hope that didn't come off as sounding rude, as it's not intended to be, but I also feel that this issue needs to be addressed. I see no reason why furnishings should be destroyed on pick up. It just doesn't make sense.

Was going to buy this for my girlfriend till I saw the item can be destroyed. SE really needs to fix this, its pretty insulting honestly.

Devs really need to respond to this one.

I could understand that if ALL furniture was that way, but it isn't. Most furniture can be removed and stored. The only reason I can see is that they think it's more "realistic" to have wallpaper be destroyed when it's removed, but that logic still doesn't apply to the cieling lamps and in this case, the chocobo lamp.

In fairness you are buying the plushie not the furnishing.

Doesn't mean I agree with the destroy on pick up thing, but I'm just saying. You can't really argue that you are paying real life money for this furnishing since it is being offered as a "bonus".

Shady sale incentive? Yes, considering they know that there is a certain amount of people that won't give a crap about the plushie and will just get it for the furnishing. Honestly though, the furnishing isn't worth 30 bucks, so if that is your reason for buying, that is on you since all the information is right there on the page.

However; as a separate, stand alone topic, of why furnishings are destroyed on pick-up, sure, carry on.

It's absolutely idiotic to do so for a $30 IRL item bonus, and I think it's dumb to do it for any furniture, but this is because SE has developed the game economy around vanity (gear and furniture) and rarely the occasional quest items.
The whole Rare/Ex can/can't dye, can/can't convert thing of the gear is just weird from word go. It seems to be so arbitrarily applied.

I get one green drop from a dungeon.. I can dye it, I can also sell it. I get another green drop, I can't dye it, or sell it. I get a pink drop.. I can convert it. I get another pink drop.. I can't dye it. Retainer brings back one blue weapon.. .I can sell it. They bring back another blue weapon, I can't.

Similarly, the seemingly random application of can/can't pick up or is/isn't destroyed is equally random. In those areas, and in others, it really seems like a number of decisions in this game are decided with a coin flip.

I've tried to find some kind of common thread between the different scenarios, and I've yet to find one.

I know they say "bonus", but part of that price factors in the presence of a bonus item I'd suspect. That item helps drive sales of the base product. This particular one is a complete bust for most of us.

Yup, I get the complaints and I totally agree that it shouldn't be destroyed. Just the "I paid real money for this furnishing" is not a good reason or leg to stand on when arguing it, since it is in fact a bonus, listed as such and has all the information. Could be worse, could be a * with tiny text at the bottom of the page saying it could be destroyed. lol

If they were selling the furnishing on mog station as a stand alone thing, then it would be a better argument. I did edit my post above, which you may have missed.

The lamp is cute and all, but it's destroyed on pickup and in order to get it again you have to drop 30 bucks (US) on another plush.

Just do 'The Sims' thing and offer a limited range of things for a couple of bucks each in the mogstation. Make them NOT destroyed on pickup and keep most in game as crafted items.

Let's clear this up. Do you think this is, or is not, a terrible bonus item to include with the plush? Which is my point here.

Follow up to that, for those of us for whom the bonus item is actually what we're interested in (and there are a lot of us), do you understand why people are looking at square and shaking their head?
