Anima Weapon Gil Cost

Despite the obvious flaws this presents for more casual players who don't gather or craft, as someone who profits solely off of gathering, it's kind of fulfilling that I've been able to make the gil necessary (roughly 8 mil on Coeurl as well) just due to how the markets are balanced lately. That said, there are tons of crafters on my server, so lots of people are competing for the current relic market so specific materials are super in demand.

Not to mention the raptorskin maps were up to 100k+ each on my server at one point. (unID items drop from them sometimes) They were usually worth around 20k before the relic was added. Easy money if you have 1 gatherer at 60 and don't care to gamble yourself.

I'm just going to work on the relic slowly just so if they decide to make the relics better in the later steps I won't be stuck on the first step long after everyone has moved on. By the time I finish the unID items the crafted items will probably have dropped in price. There are probably people gearing their crafts right now that will be done and be able to participate in the market when I need to buy them due to the weekly nature of red scrips.

It's probably cheaper to create a couple alts, transfer them to a JP server like Chocobo where all relic items average 40k, buy and go back. Don't blame the DEVs for them greedy western players, even Tonberry (JP server) is relatively more expensive than the rest of the JP servers because the majority of the players are western.

Until the day when people stop being greedy... well; we all know that won't happen now. Godspeed.

Cheaper? You do realize that costs real world money, right? It's $18 one way. Not everyone has $36 to blow on a video game. Actually scratch that; not everyone has $36 to blow on a quest in a video game.

They designed the Relic for players with a lot of time and to make it relatively casual. The high gil cost is there to as another time sink (and gil sink) since players will have to do __ to get enough gil.

It's not a Gil sink if it's not taking the Gil out of market circulation, just as a note.

I've actually just given up on the relic!

I've never had more than 450k gil to my name from the day I started playing until now. I'm not going to be rolling in the dough anytime soon, I guarantee that.

Also, WHM is my main and... to be honest, well, I've gotten a little burnt out on healing all the time. I wanna DPS, and my DPS choice is level 35

Besides, there's no point working that hard for a relic that takes SECOND PLACE!!! next to the weapons you can get from simply raiding.

while the items are costly i see it as a bit of motivation to finally get my crafters/gatherers up to level
though not everyone has enough time to go through all that in a timely fashion
but as many have said before gathering the mats yourself and having a crafter hired to make the stuff for ya is still a very viable option

Well if it was 8 million i for sure will wait until prices are lower, or stuff gets nerfed.
Previous Relic (Novus Stage) my Bard Relic cost over 4 mil, same was the case for my blm at the time. This was mats only, not the other steps that required more $$$
It's not like the weapon is godly, if you have Thordan, Savage weapon or yes even eso is all you really need for the current content.
Or do some race to complete it just to put it in peoples face? lol

I was expecting the materials part to be quite pricey on Leviathan, and based upon discussions from my FC mates I was not surprised. It's why I haven't progressed past the "Awakened Brionac" part. I still haven't recovered from getting my Zeta, which had cost me over 8 million gil on the last two phases alone.

In a few months the relic won't be at the top anymore, or so I heard. SQE is planning to add new raid weapons, which overshadow the relic.

I'd rather sink [less] time into getting THAT weapon than slam my face against a brick wall for 4, 5 hours per day just to get a few ingredients, and then eventually have to pay over one million, two million, five million, eight million gil to a bunch of greedy people just for a weapon that comes in... I'm gonna say it... second place.

But by that respect, you shouldn't waste time on Gordion weapons either because they'll be outclassed at the same time as the Anima weapon.
