But by that respect, you shouldn't waste time on Gordion weapons either because they'll be outclassed at the same time as the Anima weapon. In a few months the relic won't be at the top anymore, or so I heard. SQE is planning to add new raid weapons, which overshadow the relic.
I'd rather sink [less] time into getting THAT weapon than slamming my face against a brick wall for 4, 5 hours per day just to get a few ingredients, and then eventually have to pay over one million, two million, five million, eight million gil to a bunch of greedy people just for a weapon that comes in... I'm gonna say it... second place.

while the items are costly i see it as a bit of motivation to finally get my crafters/gatherers up to level
though not everyone has enough time to go through all that in a timely fashion
but as many have said before gathering the mats yourself and having a crafter hired to make the stuff for ya is still a very viable option

I agree. Granted, it's always been this way but the cost (time and gil) just isn't worth it for me to grind it out ASAP. The only reason why I'm doing it is that it gives me a reasond to spend my Poetics/ Law tomes onIn a few months the relic won't be at the top anymore, or so I heard. Anyways, that's vertical progression for you
is no wonder RMT have been appearing again in every other server and spamming like no tommorow....
on JP servers the items are cheap , and there is almost 0 rmt spam.....it feels like FFXI all over again RMT and MB prices have a relation no doubt , but since the issue is for EU/USA , SE wont do anything...or too little to late like always.
If it's 'not worth the cost' then don't buy it. Or gather the materials yourself to offset the cost. Or have a friend craft it for minimal markup. Or lake the pieces yourself and sell extras to buy the ones you can't make. Or any number of things.
If that fancy car isn't worth 100k to YOU then YOU shouldn't buy it. There are plenty of cheaper weapons that will get you from point a to b, just not in as much style. If you do want the weapon there are tons of ways to discount the price of relic by doing some of the legwork yourself. All else fails you can sit till the price falls. It's a relatively free market. It's expensive because there are people willing to pay that price for it. When those people are done buying or the supply goes up then the price will fall into the 'worth it' range for a other group. Then it will fall and the next group can afford. And so on until everyone and their dog has relics.
How long you want to wait for the price to be 'worth it' is entirely your own interpretation. But that doesn't mean the price is wrong. The price is what people are willing to pay.

That includes real money sadly, and the RMT know it. I'm guessing SE does to, but they could care less.
I find your car argument kinda funny. It's mostly true in the market sense... but people aren't paying car developers monthly to design cars for them to pick from.
THE PRICE IS WRONG BOB! Ok I'm done.
Yeah we only pay them annually via govt subsidies from taxes. That includes real money sadly, and the RMT know it. I'm guessing SE does to, but they could care less.
