KABOOM! Baseless Head-Canons [SPOILERS]

A new one I just thought of, the Warriors of Darkness came about simply because Derplander was so sick and tired of being called 'Derplander' by everyone and now wants to take his revenge out on the ones who keep slandering him (us), hence he allied with Elidibus.

Our Chocobo companion and Minions Actually DO materialize out of no-where, it isn't a technical cheat. They are Primals summoned by the players. That have tonnes of Aetheric crystals in their inventories. We keep failing at otherwise good Crafting attempts because of depleted crystals, not basic statistics.

they convert them and gysahl greens into pure Earth Aspected Aether and feed on that.

1, Ysayle x Estinien OTP.

Basically, since Estinien is now a dragon, and Ysayle is "dead", somehow (you said baseless, right?) Nidinien (Esthogg?) "absorbs" her in the same way Hraesvelgr "absorbed" Saint Shiva. Resulting in the Dragoon inheriting her Crystal of Light, leading to;

2, Derplander and Co all have a Crystal of Light.

Since our brief Echo cutscene with them clearly displayed them as just like us, why not? We already know other individuals can have a Crystal of Light, since Ysayle had one. That was presumably Ice aspected, then we've got 5 Warriors of Darkness. Add Ysayle (who was also introduced as an antagonist) and you've got 6, enough for a full elemental wheel;

Warrior - Lightning.
Paladin - Earth.
White Mage - Water.
Black Mage - Fire.
Bard - Wind.

And finally, since absolutely everyone has always complained about Derplanders group lacking a Dragoon (IGNORE THE FACT THAT DERPLANDER IS A DRAGOON IN TRAILERS NOW);

Dragoon - Ice.

3, We're Captain Planet.

And the Warriors of Darkness + Esdhogen (should I stop? Wait, Ysayle is in there now too... Ysdhoen?) are our Planeteers.

OK I'm kinda serious about 2... I mean, wouldn't it explain a lot if every Era had its own Warriors of Light/Darkness, all carrying a specific element, and that specific element was either Astral or Umbral? The Twelve, perhaps being the first such group... Would even explain why we're so damned powerful; We're Halone, Thaliak, Llymlaen, Byregot, Azeyma, and Nophica all rolled into one...

With the Warring Triad looking more and more tree-like, especially, Sephirot's arena, I believer that true to his lagend: Nidhogg will gnaw at the roots of a "tree" ie the Triad. But this is mostly for power

Switch Halone with Menphina, and Azemya with Nald'Thal, and you have a handy explanation for the DoL's Ward of the Twelve abilities

Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh! Waitwaitwaitwait! I just came up with a delicious new theory (following on from a previous post of mine about possible AUs for Eorzea where the Calamity never happened), and it ties in with the real identities of the Warriors of Darkness...

Basically... the Warriors of Darkness are from the original 1.0 Eorzea (the storyline planned for 1.0 before Yoshi took over).

In their AU Eorzea, the Calamity never happened/Nael never existed, it's still the Sixth Astral Era, the Grand Companies never reformed, the Path of the Twelve still exists and never became the Scions of the Seventh Dawn, and that Ascian we saw Derplander fighting in that Echo scene was the now officially de-canonized/retconned-out-of-the-story elezen Ascian Travanchet from 1.0's Limsa storyline. After many adventures Derplander and his party reached the 'end of the Path' Minfilia had eluded to in 1.0 (this is why he says when he disappears after attacking us in 3.1; "(We're) walkers of a different Path" (because they were members of the Path of the Twelve), were taken to Dalamud as was the original intention, where Travanchet revealed his big evil plan... but of course they kicked his butt (just like we did to Lahabrea in 'our Eorzea'). However, Travenchet had one last ace up his sleeve, opens an aetherial rift where he casts Derplander and his party with his final burst of power, that consumes him in the process.

After an indeterminate amount of time in the Void, the Calamity weakens the aetherial barrier so much that Derplander and his friends arrive in 'our Eorzea'.. where they come to the attention of Elidibus, who, taking them to Menphina (the moon), promises him to return him and his party back to their Eorzea if he agrees to become anointed as the Warriors of Darkness and to bring 'balance' by counteracting our growing power, which, naturally he agrees to, unaware that he's becoming increasingly corrupted by the Ascians' malign influence. Not surprisingly, Elidibus has no intention of sending him back to his world now... but Evil!Derplander does not realize this.

Too far-fetched? Maybe, but I like it anyway!

Even if it does invert the big revelation of FFXI's Wings of the Goddess expansion (and for that matter, the Abyssea storyline as well)....

Head-canon: The WoL accept Haurchefant offer to join him in his private chambers and let's just say neither of them did much resting.

Thancred has a bunch of crazy fan girls who'd followed him to the Scions old hideout and that is how Livia Sas Junius and the Garlean found them.
